Ducks at 2012 IIHF World Hockey Championships

Six members of the Anaheim Ducks participated in the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships.Bobby Ryan, Cam Fowler and Kyle Palmieri skated for USA, Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf with Canada and Luca Sbisa with Switzerland.
Team USA went 6-2-0 at the tournament, before being eliminated by host Finland in the quarterfinals. Ryan totaled a team-high five goals and two assists in the eight games, while playing on a forward line with Paul Stastny and Max Pacioretty. Fowler was partnered with Jack Johnson and registered one goal and four assists, while Palmieri scored two goals and two assists.
Canada finished play at the World Championships with a 6-1-1 record. The club was eliminated by Slovakia in the quarterfinal round after a 4-3 loss. Ryan Getzlaf, the captain of Team Canada, had nine points (two goals, seven assists) in the eight games. He skated in his customary position alongside Corey Perry, who totaled three goals and four assists at the tournament.
Switzerland went 2-5-0 record at the tournament, with wins over Kazakhstan and Belarus to open play. Five straight losses knocked the club out of quarterfinal contention. Luca Sbisa registered one assist during the games, while being partnered on the blue line with Mark Streit.
