Ducks Named a 2012 Most Trustworthy Brand
The organizers of the Orange County Trust Summit – the annual celebration of local brands doing the best job at connecting with their customers – have named the Ducks one of the 10 Most Trustworthy Brands in Orange County.  

 The Anaheim Ducks and the nine other 2012 Most Trustworthy Brands: Orange County Edition™ finalists were chosen following a six-month survey and peer review effort organized by The Values Institute at DGWB and OC METRO.  The brands were honored at the 3rd Annual Orange County Trust Summit in front of more than 400 Southern California business and nonprofit leaders, marketing strategists and entrepreneurs at the Disneyland Hotel.
  The 2012 Most Trustworthy Brands include the Anaheim Ducks, Automobile Club of Southern California, Black & Decker, Discovery Science Center, Goodwill of Orange County, Kaiser Permanente, Oakley, South Coast Plaza, Wahoo’s Fish Taco and Whole Foods.  “Consumer trust has become the corporate asset that separates good brands from great ones,” explained Mike Weisman, the Values Institute’s founder who is also co-founder and president of DGWB Advertising and Communications of Santa Ana, Calif. “The Ducks organization is a prime example of those great brands that are as successful in the customer and public mindset as they are at the cash register.”

 The OC Trust Summit and Most Trustworthy Brands were designed to determine not only the most trustworthy brands based in, or commonly associated with, Orange County, but also the reasons why those specific products and services hold the public’s trust more than others.  

 “Thanks to OC METRO Magazine, Churm Media, Inc. and the Values Institute for this great honor,” said Ducks Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer Tim Ryan. “We certainly appreciate the response from our fans and are committed to remain a trusted brand that is synonymous with Orange County’s values.”

 2012 Most Trusted Brands: Orange County Edition used a proprietary online survey measuring trust through 25 trust dimensions in five “macro” values categories of ability, consistency, identification, sincerity and concern, to create a short list of brands to spotlight for the year.  Brands were also added to this list as nominated by the editorial staff of OC METRO, the board of directors of The Values Institute at DGWB and researchers from Cal State University at Fullerton, a co-presenter of the 2012 program and an MTB academic partner.
