Season Overview
Cam Fowler completed his second season in the NHL with the Ducks in 2011-12. After playing with multiple players on the blue line as a rookie, he found a steady defense partner for much of his sophomore campaign in veteran Francois Beauchemin.

The 20-year-old led all Anaheim defensemen in assists (24) and points (29) during the season. He also stayed out of the penalty box (just 18 PIM), blocked 94 shots (fifth on the Ducks) and was one of six players on the team to play in all 82 contests on the regular season schedule.

Cam Fowler Video Highlights

He has already become one of the most established players in the league from the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, in which he was selected 12th overall in by the Ducks. One of just 16 players (out of 210 players drafted) to have skated in the league to date from that class, Fowler has played the most NHL games of that group (158) and dished out the second-most assists (54, two behind leader Jeff Skinner of Carolina).

Highlight
Fowler enjoyed the first multi-goal game of his career on November 13, 2011. Though it came in a 3-2 loss to the Wild at Honda Center, he nearly brought Anaheim all the way back from an early three-goal deficit. He first lit the lamp on a quick shot early in the second period, then floated a wrister by Niklas Backstrom with 49 seconds left in regulation. He  also played a game-high 26:35 on the night.

By the Numbers
57, the number of seconds per shift that Fowler averaged during the 2011-12 season. That mark tied him for fifth among NHL leaders in that category. In all, he averaged 24.4 shifts (third on the Ducks) and 23:15 of ice time (second on the Ducks) per contest during the season.

Looking Forward
With two seasons in the league already under his belt and being just 20 years old, Fowler figures to be a cornerstone of the Ducks defense for years to come. Entering the final year of his entry-level contract in 2012-13, the d-man will be focused on further progressing as a player. He should continue to see big minutes (including time on both the power play and penalty kill) and be among the team's top point producers from the blue line.

Personal
Spends the offseason at home in Northville, Michigan. Outside of hockey, his favorite athletes are Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander and golfer Jason Day. His favorite OC restaurant is Wildfish Seafood Grille in Newport Beach. Lists Lil Wayne, the Zac Brown Brand and Kenny Chesney as his favorite artists. His favorite TV show is "Seinfeld," having watched every episode at least two or three times. Won gold medals with Team USA at the 2010 World Junior Championships and the 2009 Under-18 World Championships. Has also played in the last two IIHF World Hockey Championships for the U.S.

He Said It
“Personally, I think I’ve made tremendous gains in my game. Coming from last year and even at the beginning of this season, I think I’ve taken some big steps. The numbers may not show it. But I think numbers aren’t important. It matters what my teammates, my coaching staff and management think. Talking with Bruce and Coach [Bob] Woods, I think they’re happy with how things are going.”  - Cam Fowler
