Season Overview
Bobby Ryan took part in his fifth NHL season in 2011-12, his fourth full campaign in the league. All of those have come as a member of the Anaheim Ducks, who selected the winger with the second overall selection in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The 25-year-old joined rare company by the end of the season, becoming just the second active player (also Alex Ovechkin) to score 30-plus goals in the first four full seasons of their careers. Ryan, who finished with 31 goals, is also one of just 16 players to perform that feat in league history. Finally, he became the third player in Ducks history to have four straight seasons with 30-plus goals, tying Teemu Selanne (1996-00) and Paul Kariya (1998-02).

Along with those 31 tallies, which ranked second on Anaheim, he added 26 assists for a total of 57 points in 82 games played (one of six Ducks to play in every contest). Ryan also potted two of the team's four shorthanded goals during the year, led Anaheim in shooting percentage (15.2 percent) and tied for first in takeaways (35). His 18:21 of average time on ice was seventh on the club and third among forwards.

Highlight
Left with one final chance to reach the 30-goal mark for the season, Ryan came through in the season finale at Calgary on April 7. He connected on a one-timer during a power play in the second period to reach 30. For good measure, he added goal No. 31 with 26.8 seconds left in regulation. It was the sixth two-goal game of 2011-12 for the winger.

By the Numbers
131, the amount of goal Ryan has scored since the start of the 2008-09 season. That number ranks second in the NHL among American-born players during that span (Toronto's Phil Kessel is first with 135). It is also the second-most on the Ducks during that timeframe (behind only Corey Perry's 146 goals).

Looking Forward
One of the most dangerous offensive threats on the Anaheim roster, Ryan should continue to be among the club's top point-producers for seasons to come (signed through the 2014-15 season). It will be interesting to see what a full season under Bruce Boudreau will produce for the winger, as he scored 24 of his 31 goals in the 58 proceeding games after the head coach took over on the night of November 30. The other thing to keep an eye on is if Ryan continue to spend the bulk of his time on the top forward line with Perry and Ryan Getzlaf or become a fixture on another scoring line for the Ducks.

Personal
Resides in Newport Beach for most of the year and Idaho during parts of the offseason. Considers himself a music enthusiast and enjoys playing guitar in his spare time. Lists the Anaheim White House as his favorite Orange County restaurant. Lived in El Segundo for four years while growing up and played amateur hockey for the Junior Kings. Has represented Team USA in international tournaments on three occasions, most recently at the 2012 IIHF World Championships. He also won a silver medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics and appeared in the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championships.

He Said It
"Being able to reach that point every year for the first four seasons of a career would be a really cool thing. I always just thought it would be something nice to achieve. Personally myself, I wanted to hit 30 and then keep going and move on to higher numbers. It would be a cool number to reach, especially to be listed with a guy like (Ovechkin)." - Bobby Ryan
