Ducks to Kick Off Inline Junior Olympics This Thursday at The Rinks - Huntington Beach

The 2012 Inline Hockey Junior Olympics presented by Reebok will kick off this Thursday, June 28 and run through July 8 at THE RINKS – Huntington Beach Inline. In partnership with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), Team USA Hockey Club, and USA Rollersports, the Ducks will also host the 2012 Inline Hockey Adult Nationals presented by Reebok at Huntington Beach Inline from June 29-July 1. This marks the third consecutive year in which the Ducks have hosted the Inline Hockey Junior Olympics, as 2010 marked the first time in tournament history the event was held west of the Mississippi River.

Five continents are represented with more than 2,500 athletes converging upon Southern California for both the Junior Olympic and Adult National tournaments this year. Over 250 teams will participate, including squads from as far away as China (Hong Kong), Great Britain, Australia, Canada, Columbia, Mexico and New Zealand.

Huntington Beach Inline, part of the Anaheim Ducks’ THE RINKS development program, will serve as the headquarters for both the 2012 Junior Olympics and Adult Nationals. The Ducks operate five local skating facilities within THE RINKS program, including two ice rinks (THE RINKS – Anaheim ICE and THE RINKS – Westminster ICE) and three inline facilities (THE RINKS – Huntington Beach Inline THE RINKS – Irvine Inline and THE RINKS – Corona Inline).

Huntington Beach Inline is located at 5555 McFadden Ave., Huntington Beach, CA 92649. For additional information about the 2012 Inline Hockey Junior Olympics and the 2012 Inline Hockey Adult Nationals, visit www.The-Rinks.com.
