Season Overview
Corey Perry played in his seventh NHL season (all with Anaheim) in 2011-12 and was named an All-Star for the third time.

The 2011 Hart Trophy winner led the Ducks in goals (37, first among Western Conference players and the second-highest output of his career). He also ranked first on the club in power play goals (14, third in the league), game-winning goals (six) and shots (277). Perry also tallied 23 assists, to give him 60 points (second on Anaheim). It was the fourth straight season he had reached the 60-point mark.

Corey Perry Video Highlights

Perry, who paced Anaheim with 127 penalty minutes, finished the season as one of just two players in the league to score at least 35 goals and record 100 PIM. He also saw a good chunk of a ice time, placing eighth in the NHL in average TOI among forwards (21:22) and ninth in total TOI among forwards (1710:21). Prior to missing two games in March with an upper body injury, the winger had played in 272 consecutive games (was fifth on the league's "Iron Man" list).

Highlight
It is hard to imagine that Perry did not have a hat trick during his first five seasons in the league. The 27-year-old now has five over the last two seasons, with his last one Feb. 12 at Columbus being his top game of the 2011-12 campaign. All three of his goals in the 5-3 Anaheim road win came in the first 32:38 of regulation and were among his career-high 11 shots on the night (one short of the franchise record of 12, set by Paul Kariya on three separate occasions).

By the Numbers
40, the combined post-All-Star break goals Perry has scored in the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. That is five more than any other NHL player (Jarome Iginla and Ilya Kovalchuk with 35, Steven Stamkos, 34 and Patrick Marleau, 32).

Looking Forward
One of the very best players the league has to offer, Perry will continue to power the Ducks during the 2012-13 season. He has lead the club in goals four out of the last five seasons and ranked atop the team in points during two of the last three years. The right winger will be playing in the final season of a five-year contract he signed back on July 1, 2008.

Personal
Resides in Newport Coast during the season and spends his summers in London, Ontario. Annually hosts the Corey Perry "A Round for a Cure" Golf Tournament (this year's was on June 15), benefiting Wellspring London, a nonprofit walk-in cancer support center. Likes to dine at The Cannery in Newport Beach for their sushi rolls. His first job was working nights loading beds onto trucks at a Sleep Country Warehouse store in his hometown. Has won gold with Team Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics and the 2005 IIHF World Junior Championships.

He Said It
"It was an up and down season for myself. It started not as I expected it to, but then it got better. I didn't put any extra pressure on myself. I was just going out, playing hockey and doing what I do." - Corey Perry
