Ducks to Celebrate Home Opener with Selanne T-Shirt Night
The Ducks will open the 2012-13 home schedule this Friday, Jan. 25 against the Vancouver Canucks at 7 p.m. All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative Teemu Selanne “#8” t-shirt. In addition, various giveaways are planned for throughout the night, including a special “Jersey off the Back” presentation for a number of lucky fans. Ducks fans are encouraged to arrive very early for Friday’s game, particularly to take part in the “Miller Lite Home Opener Lounge” beginning at 3:30 p.m. as well as the Player Red Carpet Arrival from 4-5 p.m. (both near Honda Center’s north doors). Ducks players will greet fans as they enter the building to prepare for their contest against the Canucks. The club enters the home-opening weekend (also Saturday, Jan. 26 vs. Nashville, 7:30 p.m.) after posting consecutive wins to start the season, Anaheim’s first 2-0 start since 2006-07.

Fans attending the game are urged to ARRIVE EARLY TO ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR PARKING at Honda Center. They are also encouraged to wear their Selanne t-shirts (located on every seat in the building) and be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. for the interactive opening sequence and player introductions.

Other in-game elements include a motorcycle giveaway provided by Honda Powersports. The Honda 2013 CRF250L Motorcycle and corresponding helmet will be awarded to one lucky fan during the second intermission. Three semifinalists will be selected to join Ducks host Kent French on the ice. Fans had the opportunity to vote for their favorite Ducks-designed helmet (three different helmets) through Jan. 22 at AnaheimDucks.com/hondamotorcycle. An online vote served as an automatic entry to become one of the three semifinalists. Fans are also invited to participate in Opening Night festivities by submitting photos via Instagram using the hashtag #duckshomeopener. The winning submission will receive a team-autographed jersey.

Friday night’s game will also serve as the first of four “Surprise Puck” sales, benefiting the Anaheim Ducks Foundation. The club will once again be selling a Surprise Puck series, featuring four limited edition pucks. Opening Night’s puck will be available for purchase ($30 each) at Section 212 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Fans will pick an individually wrapped puck at random and receive either a Ducks player-autographed commemorative puck, or for 23 lucky fans, a surprise Ducks player-autographed orange puck. The winners of the Opening Night Surprise Puck Sale meet the Ducks player who autographed their winning orange puck. Additional Surprise Puck Set sales will take place on Feb. 27 vs. Nashville, Mar. 22 vs. Detroit and Apr. 27 vs. Phoenix (Fan Appreciation Night).

Tickets for Opening Night vs. Vancouver are sold out, although fans are encouraged to check back regularly for any ticket releases. Tickets for remaining 2012-13 home contests are on sale and can be purchased through AnaheimDucks.com, Ticketmaster or at the Honda Center Box Office. Fans will incur no additional fees when purchasing tickets direct from the Anaheim Ducks (via any of the aforementioned avenues). In addition, fans will continue to receive free TicketFast delivery (ability to print tickets at home). Fans are strongly encouraged to arrive early should tickets need to be picked up at Will Call (located adjacent to Honda Center’s east doors). As with all Ducks home games, the Team Store (also on Honda Center’s east side) will be open throughout the evening. Fans can expect a variety of new merchandise including new Wild Wing garb, CCM retro fashions and infant Ducks apparel. The Miller Lite Lounge will offer cold beverages and music in a lively atmosphere just outside Honda Center’s north doors leading up to the game.
