Ducks Acquire Lovejoy from Pittsburgh in Exchange for 2014 Draft Pick
Lovejoy, 28 (2/20/84), appeared in three games for Pittsburgh this season, going scoreless while averaging 13:36 time-on-ice (TOI). The 6-2, 215-pound defenseman has appeared in five NHL seasons with the Penguins, earning 4-21=25 points with a +20 rating and 63 PIM in 98 career games. He set numerous career highs in 2010-11, including goals (3), assists (14), points (17), plus/minus (+11) and games played (47). Lovejoy has also played in nine career Stanley Cup Playoff games with Pittsburgh, scoring 0-2=2 points with four PIM.
Signed as a free agent on July 7, 2007, Lovejoy has played four seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL) with Norfolk (2006-07) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (2007-10). In 218 career AHL games, Lovejoy recorded 18-62=80 points with a +57 rating and 245 PIM between the Admirals and AHL Penguins. The Concord, NH native also made appearances in the Calder Cup Playoffs, including a trip to the Calder Cup Final in 2008. He appeared in 37 career Calder Cup Playoff games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, scoring 3-11=14 points with a +3 rating and 34 PIM.
