Ducks Recall Goalie Deslauriers, Reassign Defensemen Vatanen, Hendry

The recall of Deslauriers comes after Jonas Hiller left after the first period of last night's 3-1 loss in Dallas with a lower body injury. Hiller is listed as day-to-day.
Deslauriers, 28 (5/15/84), appeared in two games with Norfolk this season, going 1-1-0 with a 3.51 goals-against average (GAA) and .889 save percentage (SV%). Deslauriers made his season debut on Jan. 20 at Charlotte and earned his first win last night vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, stopping 31-of-32 shots for a 4-1 victory.
Signed as a free agent on July 12, 2011, Deslauriers appeared in four games with Anaheim last season, posting a 3-1-0 record with a 2.74 GAA and .903 SV%. He most recently backstopped Anaheim to a 3-2 overtime victory over Edmonton on Apr. 5 at Rexall Place, stopping 24-of-26 shots. Selected by Edmonton in the second round (31st overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Deslauriers has appeared in 62 career NHL contests with the Ducks and Oilers, posting a 23-32-4 record with three shutouts, a 3.24 GAA and a .901 SV%.
Vatanen, 21 (6/3/91), appeared in three games for Anaheim this season, going scoreless with a +1 rating. Selected in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Vatanen has appeared in 34 games with the Admirals in 2012-13, earning 4-19=23 points with 30 penalty minutes (PIM). He returns to Norfolk leading team defensemen in goals, assists and points, and leading club rookies in assists and scoring.
Hendry, 28 (2/23/84), played two games for Anaheim this season, going scoreless while averaging 17:34 time-on-ice (TOI). Signed as a free agent on July 1, 2012, Hendry began his eighth professional season with Norfolk, collecting 2-2=4 points and 33 PIM.
