Ducks to Open Homestand Wednesday on 6-Game Home Winning Streak
A WINNING CAUSE: The Pacific Division-leading Anaheim Ducks (13-3-1, 27 pts.) open a two-game homestand against the Nashville Predators tomorrow at Honda Center (7 p.m. PST, PRIME TICKET/AM 830)...the Ducks have gone 10-2-0 in the month of February and are one win shy of matching the club record for wins in a single month...the franchise record of 11 wins was set in March 2006 (11-4-1) and tied in March 2011 (11-3-0)...Anaheim has won six of its last seven games and is riding the league’s longest active home winning streak (6; also CHI)...the club's six straight wins at home mark the Ducks' most since Jan. 6-22, 2012 (6-0-0)...in addition, Anaheim's 6-1-0 start at home equals the best in franchise history, joining 2005-06 (6-1-0) and 2006-07 (5-0-2)…Anaheim owns the second-best record (also MTL) and second-most wins in the NHL (also PIT)…it is also Anaheim’s second-best start to a season in franchise history (12-0-4, 28 points in 2006-07) and 12 points ahead of last year’s pace after 17 games (6-8-3 in 2011-12, 15 points)…the club is 8-2-1 when opponents score first (also 5-1-0 when scoring first), compared to 0-8-1 through 17 games last season...additionally, Anaheim's 55 goals (shootout goals excluded) is the second-highest team goal output in club history (behind 57 in 2006-07)...Anaheim's 3.24 goals-per-game average and 5-on-5 goals for/against ratio (1.41) both rank third in the NHL...the club has scored 38 goals 5-on-5 this season, fifth in the NHL...Anaheim enters tomorrow's game co-leading the league (also TB) with 10 players with four goals-or-more (Perry, Getzlaf, Winnik, Selanne, Koivu, Ryan, Souray, Bonino, Palmieri, Cogliano)...following tomorrow's game, the Ducks will conclude their two-game homestand on Friday, Mar. 1 vs. Minnesota (7:05 p.m.).

Beauchemin

IT'S A PLUS: Three Anaheim Ducks rank among the top 15 NHL leaders in plus/minus this season, including Francois Beauchemin (+13) and Sheldon Souray (+13), who rank tied for second...in addition, Saku Koivu (+10) ranks tied for 11th among NHL leaders...Souray has been plus-or-even in 15-of-16 games, including 12 straight (+11); Beauchemin has recorded a +8 rating in his last 12 games with a plus-or-even rating in 11 of 12; Koivu has earned a plus-or-even rating in 14-of-17 games; Dan Winnik has been a plus-or-even in 16-of-17 games; and captain Ryan Getzlaf has recorded a +6 rating in the last 11 games.

EIGHT AND ONE: Viktor Fasth (8-1-0, 10 games), who signed a two-year contract extension through 2014-15 on Feb. 20, became the third NHL goaltender all-time to win his first eight-or-more career decisions, joining Ray Emery of Ottawa (NHL record 9-0-0 from 2003-05, 12 games) and Bob Froese of Philadelphia (8-0-0 in 1983)...prior to his first loss on Feb. 25 in Los Angeles, Fasth was the first goalie to start a season 8-0-0 since Tim Thomas of Boston in 2010...the eight-game winning streak was the longest in the NHL since a nine-game streak by Marc-Andre Fleury of Pittsburgh from Feb. 21-Mar. 17, 2012...Fasth was the first goaltender in club history to win his first eight decisions as a Duck (previous mark held by Ray Emery in 2010-11, 6 consecutive wins)...he also was the first goaltender to win his first four NHL appearances since Nolan Schaefer (with San Jose) won his first five games from Oct. 26-Nov. 4, 2005 (Fasth's streak was broken by no-decision in his fifth game in relief)...he ranks tied for fifth in the NHL in wins (8) and eighth in GAA (2.01).

Souray

NEW FACES: Signed as a free agent on July 1, 2012, Sheldon Souray has notched 4-4=8 points (+13) this season, ranking tied for second in the NHL in plus/minus and tied for fourth among NHL defensemen in goals...Souray netted back-to-back game-winners on Feb. 4 vs. SJ (2-1) and Feb. 6 at COL (3-0)...the back-to-back game winners marked the first by a defenseman in club history...Souray enters tomorrow's game two goals shy of his 2011-12 total of six in 64 games with Dallas…also signed as a free agent on July 20, 2012, Daniel Winnik (5-4=9) became the first player in club history to score five times in the first four games.

TOP BENCH BOSSES: Among all active NHL coaches, Ducks Head Coach Bruce Boudreau co-leads the league with an all-time win percentage of .657, compiling a 241-114-49 record in 404 career games...Boudreau, along with San Jose coach Todd McLellan are the two fastest coaches in modern-day NHL history to reach 200 wins…Boudreau reached the 200-win mark Nov. 22, 2011 (w/Washington) in 326 games (200-86-40), the fastest in modern day history...on Jan. 27 vs. Vancouver, McLellan became the second-fastest coach in modern-day NHL history to win 200 games (now 203-98-44 in 345 career games)...Pittsburgh's Dan Bylsma shares the lead with Boudreau in all-time win percentage with a 178-87-25 record.

IRON MAN: Ducks center Andrew Cogliano ranks fourth on the NHL’s active Iron Man list, having appeared in 427 consecutive games (Calgary's Jarome Iginla has played in 428 consecutive)…Cogliano has not missed a game since his NHL debut with Edmonton on Oct. 4, 2007…other than Iginla, the only players in the NHL who have played more games consecutively at this current time are CGY’s Jay Bouwmeester at 606 and VAN’s Henrik Sedin at 600.

Selanne

#8: Teemu Selanne scored his 250th career power play goal on Feb. 24 vs. Colorado, surpassing Phil Esposito for sole possession of third place on the all-time PPG list...it was also Selanne's 668th career goal overall, matching Luc Robitaille for 11th on the all-time goal list...Selanne has recorded two four-point games this season, just the third and fourth time an NHL player 42 years or older has accomplished the feat...Selanne, who scored 1-3=4 points on Feb. 9 at St. Louis (at 42 years, 326 days) and 2-2=4 points on Jan. 19 at Vancouver, joins Gordie Howe (42 years, 326 days) with 1-3=4 points for Detroit on Feb. 20, 1971 vs. Buffalo, and Tim Horton (42 years, 3 days) with 0-4=4 points for Pittsburgh on Jan. 15, 1972 vs. Philadelphia on the exclusive list...Selanne's 1,421st career point on Feb. 15 at Detroit pushed him passed Adam Oates and into sole spot of 16th on the all-time scoring list...he is currently only one assist of tying Doug Weight (755) for 40th in all-time assists...in addition, Selanne ranks sixth in all-time game-winning goals (three behind Brendan Shanahan)…in 1,358 career NHL games (WPG, ANA, SJ & COL), Selanne has scored 668-754=1,422 points with 250 PPG and 106 GWG...he opened the 2012-13 season at 42 years, 6 months and 16 days as the oldest active player in the NHL and the oldest to ever compete in a Ducks uniform.
