Ducks Notes: Second Half Begins Tonight at Minnesota
HALFWAY MARK: The Pacific Division-leading Anaheim Ducks (18-3-3, 39 pts.) begin the second half of the NHL season tonight at Minnesota (5 p.m. PDT, PRIME TICKET/AM 830)...the Ducks are riding a three-game win streak and have earned points in seven straight (5-0-2, 12 points), the longest active point streak in the NHL (Columbus has second-longest with points in six straight)...Anaheim has the second-best record in the NHL through 24 games, just six points shy of League-best Chicago, who has picked up 45 points through 26 games (21-2-3)...overall, the Ducks have earned points in 13 of the last 14 contests (11-1-2, 24 points)…the club's 18-3-3 start to 2012-13 is the best in franchise history (previously 16-2-6 for 38 points in 2006-07)...going back to Jan. 1, 2012, the Ducks are 42-18-9 in their last 69 games.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Anaheim’s 7-2-3 (17 points) road record through 12 games is tied for the second-most points in the Western Conference (STL is 8-5-1 for 17 points thus far)...it also marks the second-best road start to a season...the 2006-07 Ducks went 9-1-2 (20 points) through their first 12 road contests.

DUCKS RIDING 11-GAME HOME WINNING STREAK: On Sunday evening vs. St. Louis, the Ducks pushed their home winning streak to 11 straight games, tying the franchise mark (also 12/8/09-2/10/10)...since the start of the 2009-10 season, there have been only four instances in which a club has won as many as 11 straight home games - two of those four by the Ducks...the other two instances were Detroit in 2011-12 (23 games) and Washington (under then-head coach Bruce Boudreau) in 2010-11 (13 games)...Anaheim's 11-1-0 record at Honda Center in 2012-13 is the club's best start to a season.

LEAGUE'S BEST POWER PLAY: The Ducks have gone 11-for-28 on the power play for a 39.3% success rate over the last 10 games...on Feb. 17, the club ranked ninth in the NHL on the power play (9-for-44, 20.5%) and has since skyrocketed to lead the NHL (since that 10-game span began on Feb. 18 vs. CBJ), going 20-for-72 overall, with a 27.8% success rate.

COMEBACKS: The high-scoring Ducks have rallied from deficits 11 times this season to win a game (13 times last year)…Anaheim is 9-2-1 when opponents score first (conversely the team is 8-1-2 when scoring first), compared to 1-10-2 through 24 games last season in such situations...additionally, Anaheim's 81 goals (four shootout goals excluded) is the second-highest goal output through 24 games in club history (behind top mark of 83 goals in 2006-07)...its 3.38 goals-per-game average ranks third and 5-on-5 goals for/against ratio (1.45) ranks second in the NHL...the Ducks enter tomorrow's game leading the league with 11 players with five goals-or-more (Perry, Getzlaf, Winnik, Selanne, Koivu, Ryan, Bonino, Palmieri, Cogliano, Beleskey, Souray).

Getzlaf

LED BY THE CAPTAIN: Ryan Getzlaf, who signed an eight-year contract extension through 2020-21 on Mar. 8, went on to score his 500th NHL point that evening (assist on Bobby Ryan's goal) as part of a two-point night (1-1=2) against Calgary...in 536 career NHL games, Getzlaf has posted 147-356=503 points with a +81 rating 504 PIM with Anaheim...he leads the Ducks this season in scoring (10-21=31), goals and assists, and ranks tied for third in plus/minus (+14)...Getzlaf ranks fifth among NHL leaders in points and tied for fourth in assists...he is currently riding a season-high 10-game HOME scoring streak, in which he has earned 6-12=18 points (+11)...the 10-game streak at Honda Center matches his career high (third time, last: 11/14-12/14/08; 6-7=13)...in addition, he is riding a four-game point streak (3-6=9, +7) and has picked up 7-15=22 points with a +11 rating in the last 13 games overall...he has recorded multi-point games in four consecutive contests, becoming the first Ducks player to do so since Corey Perry from Mar. 30-Apr. 6, 2011 (6-5=11, +5).

BEAUCHEMIN CONTINUES STRONG START: Francois Beauchemin is leading club defensemen with 2-14=16 points and a +17 rating...he ranks tied for sixth among league defensemen in assists (T-11th in defensemen scoring)...it marks the best start of his career (previous high was 1-9=10 through 24 in 2007-08 with ANA)...in addition, his +17 rating on the season ranks tied for third in the NHL...he recorded 1-11=12 points (+11) in February, co-leading all NHL blueliners (also PIT's Martin & DET's Kronwall).

Perry

HEATING UP: Corey Perry scored his fifth GWG of the season on Sunday, ranking tied for second in the NHL...he has points in four straight (4-2=6, +6) and has earned 8-10=18 (+11) over the last 12 contests (points in 11 of the 12)...Perry's nine goals on the season rank second on the club...Bobby Ryan is riding a career-tying seven-game point streak (3-5=8, +3), the third time he has accomplished the feat (last: Jan. 16-31, 2009; 5-3=8)...Andrew Cogliano has earned 4-3=7 points (+7) in the last six contests.

DYNAMIC DEBUT: Viktor Fasth (10-1-1, 13 games) became the third NHL goaltender all-time to win his first eight-or-more career decisions, joining Ray Emery of Ottawa (NHL record 9-0-0 from 2003-05, 12 games) and Bob Froese of Philadelphia (8-0-0 in 1983)...he was the first goalie to start a season 8-0-0 since Tim Thomas of Boston in 2010...he also became the first goaltender in club history to win his first eight decisions as a Duck (previous mark held by Ray Emery in 2010-11, 6 consecutive wins)...Fasth ranks second in the NHL in both GAA (1.92) and SV% (.929)...Fasth is 5-0-0 at Honda Center this season, stopping 119-of-124 shots for a .960 SV% and 0.98 GAA (5 GA/305 MIN)...he recorded his second shutout of the season on Mar. 8 vs. CGY (29 saves).

HILLER SOLID: Over his last six starts (5-0-1), Jonas Hiller has stopped 159-of-172 shots for a 2.11 GAA (13 GA/369 MIN) and a .924 SV%...at home, Hiller has won six straight (6-0-0), posting a 2.14 GAA (13 GA/364 MIN) and a .932 SV% (153-of-166).

Selanne

THE FINNISH FLASH: Teemu Selanne has recorded two four-point games this season, just the third and fourth time an NHL player 42 years or older has accomplished the feat...he scored 1-3=4 points on Feb. 9 at St. Louis (at 42 years, 326 days) and 2-2=4 points on Jan. 19 at Vancouver, joining Gordie Howe (42 years, 326 days) with 1-3=4 points for Detroit on Feb. 20, 1971 vs. Buffalo, and Tim Horton (42 years, 3 days) with 0-4=4 points for Pittsburgh on Jan. 15, 1972 vs. Philadelphia on the exclusive list...in 1,365 career NHL games (WPG, ANA, SJ & COL), Selanne has scored 669-754=1,423 points with 250 PPG and 106 GWG...he ranks 11th in all-time goals (6 behind Jagr), 41st in all-time assists (1 behind Weight), 16th in points (2 behind Trottier), third in PPG and sixth in all-time GWG (3 behind Shanahan):
