Ducks Notes: Ducks & Blackhawks Clash at Honda Center
THE NHL’S TOP TWO CLUBS MEET: The Ducks (21-3-4, 46 points) and Blackhawks (24-2-3, 51 points) matchup features the two teams with the best records ever to meet after playing at least 25 games…Anaheim has an .821 points percentage (28 games played), while Chicago (29 games) leads the league with an .879 points percentage – the first time two clubs with a points percentage over .800 have ever met after 25 games (historical research courtesy Elias Sports Bureau).

STREAKING DUCKS: The Ducks have earned points in 11 straight games (8-0-3, 19 points), the longest active point streak in the NHL...the 11-game streak matches the third-longest in club history (also Nov. 5-30, 2004; 4-0-3-4)...Anaheim's 46 points are the second-most in the NHL behind Chicago (51 points)...overall, the Ducks have collected points in 17 of the last 18 contests (14-1-3, 31 points), marking the best 18-game stretch in club history (previously 14-2-2 (30 points) from Nov. 17-Dec. 20, 2006 and 13-1-4 (also 30 points) from Oct. 6-Nov. 12, 2006)...the club's 21-3-4 start to 2012-13 equals the best in franchise history (previously 20-2-6 for 46 points in 2006-07)...going back to Jan. 1, 2012, the Ducks are 45-18-10 in their last 73 games...the club's homestand continues with consecutive contests vs. Detroit on both Friday (7 p.m.) and Sunday (5 p.m.) evenings.

DUCKS RIDING FRANCHISE-BEST 12-GAME HOME WINNING STREAK: Anaheim has won 12 consecutive games at Honda Center since Jan. 26, the longest HOME streak in franchise history (previously 11 games, 12/8/09-2/10/10)...since the start of 2009-10, there have been only three instances in which an NHL club has won as many as 12 straight home games...the other two were Detroit in 2011-12 (23 games) and Washington (under then-head coach Bruce Boudreau) in 2010-11 (13 games)...Anaheim's 12-1-0 record at Honda Center in 2012-13 is the club's best start to a season.

ROAD WARRIORS: Anaheim's 9-2-4 (22 points) road record through 15 games accounts for the second-most points in the Western Conference...it also marks the second-best road start to a season...the 2006-07 Ducks went 12-1-2 (26 points) through their first 15 road contests.

LEAGUE'S BEST POWER PLAY: The Ducks co-lead the NHL (St. Louis) on the power play, going 20-for-81 (24.7%) for the season…Anaheim has gone 11-for-37 on the power play for a 29.7% success rate over the last 14 games.

COMEBACKS: The Ducks have rallied from deficits 13 times this season to win a game (13 times total last year)...Anaheim is 11-2-1 when opponents score first (conversely the team is 9-1-3 when scoring first), compared to 1-11-2 through 28 games last season in such situations...both of those win totals (13, 11) are the most by any NHL team through the first 28 games of a season since 1987-88 (per Stats Inc.)...in addition, the club is now 4-2-0 when trailing after two periods in comparison to 2-30-2 in such situations in all of 2011-12...Anaheim's 90 goals (five shootout goals excluded) is the second-highest goal output through 28 games in club history (behind top mark of 97 goals in 2006-07).

LOCKED UP: On Mar. 8 and Mar. 18, Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf and 2011 Hart Trophy winner Corey Perry signed respective eight-year contract extensions through the 2020-21 season...Getzlaf has scored 148-357=505 points with a +80 rating in 540 career NHL games...he leads the Ducks this season in goals, points and assists (11-22=33), while ranking seventh among NHL leaders in points and tied for fourth assists...in addition, he has collected 4-7=11 points with a +6 rating over the last eight games and has picked up 8-16=24 points with a +10 rating in the last 17 games overall...Perry, who is set to return from a four-game suspension on Friday vs. Detroit, ranks second among team leaders with 9-15=24 points this season...his five GWG rank tied for second in the NHL...in addition, he has earned 8-10=18 points (+11) over his last 13 contests...he has amassed 214-239=453 points (+51) in 555 career games...his 96 goals since the start of the 2010-11 season rank second only to Steven Stamkos (TB, 126)...with five All-Star appearances between the two players, Getzlaf and Perry won their first Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007 and their first Olympic gold medal as members of Team Canada at the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

Beauchemin

BEAUCHEMIN CONTINUES STRONG START: Francois Beauchemin is leading club defensemen with 4-14=18 points...his +19 rating on the season ranks tied for sixth in the NHL...among league defensemen, he ranks tied for eighth in scoring...it marks the best start of his career (previous high was 13 points through 28 games in 2005-06 (w/CBJ & ANA).

HEATING UP: Andrew Cogliano has points in seven of his last nine games, earning 5-4=9 with a +10 rating since Mar. 1…Cogliano scored his 10th goal of the season Mar. 14 at Dallas, which ranks second among Anaheim leaders...Cogliano also ranks third on the Ducks with a +16 rating, which is tied for 13th in the NHL.

DYNAMIC DEBUT: Viktor Fasth (11-1-1, 14 games) became the third NHL goaltender all-time to win his first eight-or-more career decisions, joining Ray Emery of Ottawa (NHL record 9-0-0 from 2003-05, 12 games) and Bob Froese of Philadelphia (8-0-0 in 1983)...he was the first goalie to start a season 8-0-0 since Tim Thomas of Boston in 2010...he also became the first goaltender in club history to win his first eight decisions as a Duck (previous mark held by Ray Emery in 2010-11, 6 consecutive wins)...Fasth ranks fourth in the NHL in SV% (.927) and fifth in GAA (2.00)...Fasth is 6-0-0 at Honda Center this season, stopping 151-of-159 shots for a .950 SV% and 1.32 GAA (8 GA/365 MIN)...he recorded his second shutout of the season on Mar. 8 vs. CGY (29 saves).
