Ducks Alumni to Take on Familiar Foes in Throwback Classic Next Monday

Winners of Adult Tournament’s Expert Division to Face All-Star Alumni Team for Third Consecutive Year; Game to Take Place after Ducks-Sharks and Free to all Ticketed Fans

The Ducks are hosting the third annual Anaheim Ducks Throw-Back Classic Alumni Game next Monday, March 25 following the Ducks vs. Sharks contest at Honda Center.
Winners of the Throw-Back Classic Tournament’s Expert Division which took place last month (Feb. 15-18), “The Breakaway Lounge” squad will face the Anaheim Ducks All-Star Alumni Team for the third consecutive year. The Alumni Game will begin at Honda Center immediately following the Anaheim vs. San Jose contest and is free to all ticketed fans.

“The Breakaway Lounge” captured their third straight Expert Division title at this year’s Throw-Back Classic Tournament by posting a 3-0-1 record, winning the championship game by a score of 5-4 over the “Wookies.” Over 250 players participated in this year’s tournament, traveling from all over California, as well as Alaska, Nevada and Arizona. The opportunity to compete against the Anaheim Ducks All-Star Alumni Team was the tournament’s top prize.

NOTE: Former Ducks captain Scott Niedermayer was confirmed Sunday night as a player for the alumni team.
