Ducks Sign Maroon to Two-Year Contract Extension
Maroon, 24 (4/23/88), has appeared in 11 games for Anaheim this season, scoring two goals (2-0=2) with 10 penalty minutes (PIM). He scored the game-tying goal in a 2-1 victory on Mar. 12 at Minnesota and tallied his first career NHL goal on Feb. 16 at Nashville, beating Pekka Rinne in an eventual 3-2 shootout win. A native of St. Louis, MO, Maroon has earned 17-22=39 points with 115 PIM in 51 games with Norfolk this season. Earning AHL Player of the Week honors for the period ending Mar. 10, Maroon currently co-leads the Admirals in scoring, and ranks second in goals and assists.
