Ducks Sign Right Wing Radek Dvorak to One-Year Contract
Dvorak, 36 (3/9/77), has appeared in 1,191 career NHL games with Florida, New York Rangers, Edmonton, St. Louis, Atlanta and Dallas, scoring 219-358=577 points with 406 penalty minutes (PIM). He played in seven games with Davos of the Swiss league this year, scoring 3-4=7 points. Dvorak played in 73 contests with Dallas in 2011-12, scoring 4-17=21 points with 12 PIM. The 6-2, 195-pound winger ranks sixth among active NHL players in career games played, having appeared in his 1,000th NHL contest (with Florida) on Dec. 7, 2009 vs. Edmonton. His 613 games played with the Panthers ranks second in franchise history.
Selected by Florida in the first round (10th overall) of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, Dvorak helped lead the Panthers to the 1996 Stanley Cup Final, earning 1-3=4 points in 16 postseason games. He made his second trip to the Stanley Cup Final in 2006 with Edmonton, collecting 0-2=2 points in 16 playoff contests. The Tabor, Czech Republic native has appeared in 39 career Stanley Cup Playoff games with Florida and Edmonton, scoring 2-5=7 points with four PIM.
