Season Overview
Cam Fowler completed his third NHL season with the Ducks in 2012-13. Fowler had one goal, 10 assists and 11 points in 37 regular season games, and he finished with 41 blocked shots and 19 hits.

The 21-year-old Michigan native ranked third on the Ducks in TOI (20:26) and third among defensemen in scoring. Fowler was also plus-or-even in 26 of 37 appearances, including his last seven consecutive regular season games (+3). Fowler had points in his last two games (2a) and four of the last five (1g/3a).

Fowler Video Highlights

Fowler has already become one of the most established players in the league from the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, in which he was selected 12th overall in by the Ducks. Among his draft peers, Fowler ranks second in games played (195), fifth in goals (16), and fourth in assists (64) and points (80). Among defensemen from his draft class, Fowler ranks first in games played, goals, assists and points.

He appeared in his second Stanley Cup Playoffs, earning three assists and a +3 rating in seven games. Fowler ranked second among team defensemen in scoring and plus/minus.

Highlight
Fowler set the tone early in Anaheim’s seven-game series with the Detroit Red Wings, when he assisted on Nick Bonino’s power-play goal 10:24 into Game 1 at Honda Center. After Bonino won the draw, Fowler threw a shot on net that deflected off of Bonino’s stick and into the back of the net. That goal gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead in an eventual 3-1 victory at Honda Center.

By the Numbers
22:44, the average time-on-ice for Fowler in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs, second only to fellow defenseman Francois Beauchemin (25:22). Fowler averaged 20:26 during the regular season.

Looking Forward
With three seasons under his belt and only 21 years of age, Fowler figures to play a prominent role in Anaheim’s future. The young defenseman is five games short of 200 in his NHL career and should continue to see big minutes for years to come. Expect him to be one of Anaheim’s top point-producing defensemen next season.

Personal
Spends the offseason at home in Northville, Michigan. He enjoys golfing year-round and says his favorite OC restaurant is Wildfish Seafood Grille in Newport Beach. He lists Lil Wayne, the Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney as his favorite artists, and his favorite television show is “Seinfeld.”

He Said It
On gaining experience from the postseason: “Anytime you get the chance to play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs it counts as experience. For me, it’s a personal experience and something I can build off of.”
