Ducks Announce 2013-14 Regular Season Schedule
The National Hockey League (NHL) today announced the complete regular season schedule for the 2013-14 NHL campaign. A member of the Pacific Division in the newly-realigned four-division, two-conference NHL format, the Ducks will open their 20th anniversary season on the road, Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Colorado (6:30 p.m. PDT). Following a three-game road trip, Anaheim will return to Honda Center for its home opener vs. the New York Rangers on Thursday, Oct. 10 (7 p.m. PDT). The club’s highly anticipated 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series contest vs. crosstown rival Los Angeles will take place on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Dodger Stadium (6:30 p.m. PST).

Under the new format, the Ducks will compete within a seven-team Pacific Division, facing five divisional opponents five times each throughout the season, and one opponent four times during the season (four-game series with one divisional opponent will rotate each season). Additionally, Anaheim will face non-divisional Western Conference opponents three times (seven teams). The Ducks will take on each of the 16 Eastern Conference clubs two times each season moving forward (one home, one away), marking the first time since the 1997-98 season that every NHL team will visit Honda Center at least one time every season.

Highlights from Anaheim’s home schedule include visits from Original Six opponents on Tuesday, Jan. 7 vs. Boston; Sunday, Jan. 12 vs. Detroit; Wednesday, Mar. 5 vs. Montreal; and Monday, Mar. 10 vs. Toronto. In addition, the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks will make their only Honda Center appearance on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins are slated to visit Anaheim on Friday, Mar. 7, while the club will also host the Winnipeg Jets for the first visits since the club relocated to Manitoba (2011-12) on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Monday, Mar. 31. In addition to the Jan. 25 Stadium Series, the Ducks will face the Los Angeles Kings at Honda Center on Tuesday, Dec. 3 and Thursday, Jan. 23.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, the 2013-14 regular season will include a number of special events at Honda Center. Planned occasions will include look backs at great moments in Ducks history and retro merchandise available for purchase. In addition, the club will host a “Throwback Night” near the start of the 2013-14 regular season, paying homage to the inaugural 1993-94 Mighty Ducks of Anaheim season. The club will have further announcements surrounding the festivities at a later date.

The Ducks will host 19 weekend dates in 2013-14, including eight Friday, two Saturday and nine Sunday contests. The club will host a season-high nine games at Honda Center in the month of January, while November will serve as the busiest month overall with 15 games on the club’s schedule (home and road). Anaheim’s longest homestands will be three five-game stretches at Honda Center from Oct. 10-20, Jan. 28-Feb. 5 and Feb. 28-Mar. 10. The NHL will take a 17-day pause in February for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games to be held in Sochi, Russia. The Ducks will embark a season-long eight-game, 14-day road trip from Oct. 22-Nov. 4. In addition, Anaheim will compete in 14 sets of back-to-back games this season.

Individual regular season tickets for all Ducks games at Honda Center will go on sale later this summer. Fans can secure seats now by becoming a 2013-14 Anaheim Ducks Season Ticket Holder.
