He was a member of Team USA’s gold medal-winning squad at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship in Saskatoon and Regina, ranking third on the team in scoring (1-8=9) and second in assists. Palmieri played two seasons with the U.S. Under-18 (2007-09) and Under-17 teams (2007-08), and helped the U.S. to a bronze medal at the 2008 Under-18 World Championship in Kazan, Russia.
