Ducks Sign Right Wing Palmieri to Three-Year Contract
The Ducks have signed right wing Kyle Palmieri to a three-year contract through the 2015-16 NHL season. Per club policy, no terms of the deal were disclosed.

In 42 regular-season games, the 5-11, 197-pound winger collected 10-11=21 points with a +2 rating and nine PIM. Palmieri ranked sixth among team leaders in goals, while co-leading the club and finishing tied for sixth in the NHL with six game-winning goals. He picked up 4-4=8 points in his final 12 games, ranking tied for second among Ducks skaters in April scoring.

Selected by Anaheim in the first round (26th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Palmieri has scored 15-14=29 points with a +4 rating and 15 PIM in 70 career NHL games with the Ducks. He has also appeared in eight career Stanley Cup Playoff games with Anaheim, earning 3-2=5 points with four PIM. Palmieri began the 2012-13 season with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL), scoring 13-12=25 points with 54 PIM in 33 games. He was named a First-Team AHL All-Star in 2011-12 and represented the Eastern Conference at the 2011 and 2012 AHL All-Star Classics.

A native of Smithtown, NY, Palmieri was recently invited to attend the U.S. Men’s National Team Orientation Camp from Aug. 26-27 in Arlington, VA. He was a member of Team USA’s gold medal-winning squad at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship in Saskatoon and Regina, ranking third on the team in scoring (1-8=9) and second in assists. Palmieri played two seasons with the U.S. Under-18 (2007-09) and Under-17 teams (2007-08), and helped the U.S. to a bronze medal at the 2008 Under-18 World Championship in Kazan, Russia.
