Ducks Recall Holland from Norfolk
Holland, 22 (1/14/91), appeared in five contests for the Admirals this season, ranking tied for second on the club with three goals and tied for third with four points (3-1=4, +1). He scored in the club’s season-opener on Oct. 11 vs. Binghamton, a 5-0 Norfolk shutout. In addition, Holland had a multi-goal, three-point game (2-1=3), including the game-winner on Friday night at Adirondack (3-0 final score). The 6-2, 194-pound center was assigned to Norfolk on Oct. 7 and did not appear in Anaheim’s first three games of the 2013-14 regular season.
In 25 career NHL games, Holland has registered 4-2=6 points with a +4 rating and six penalty minutes (PIM). He scored his first career power-play goal and second career goal overall in a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Feb. 18, 2013 at Honda Center. Holland made his NHL debut on Nov. 5, 2011 at Detroit and scored his first career goal on Nov. 11, 2011 vs. Vancouver (game-winning goal).
Selected by Anaheim in the first round (15th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Holland has collected 48-61=109 points with 145 PIM in 124 career AHL games. In 2012-13, he ranked third on Norfolk in scoring, second in goals and tied for third in assists.
