Ducks Notes: Anaheim Leads NHL Standings After 5-2-1 Road Trip
The Anaheim Ducks went 5-2-1 on their season-long eight-game, 15-day road trip, earning 11 of a possible 16 standings points for a .688 win percentage.
The Ducks went 5-2-1 on their season-long eight-game, 15-day road trip, earning 11 of a possible 16 standings points for a .688 win percentage…the Ducks return to Orange County having matched the most wins earned in a single road trip in club history (the team has been on 20 road trips of six games or more, including two eight-game trips and one nine-game trip).

The win improved Anaheim’s record to 12-3-1 for 25 standings points and first place overall in the NHL…this marks the first time the Ducks has been first overall in the NHL standings through 16 games since 2006-07, when the club was 12-0-4 for 28 points…after dropping the first two games of the road trip, the Ducks finished with a 5-0-1 record for their longest road point streak vs. the Eastern Conference since earning points in seven straight road games in Eastern buildings from Feb. 5, 2008-Nov. 11, 2009 (7-0-0).

During the road trip, Ryan Getzlaf co-led the team in scoring (3-4=7) and assists, and tied for second in goals…linemate Corey Perry paced the Ducks in goals (4) and also co-led in scoring (4-3=7)…Devante Smith-Pelly matched Getzlaf for the team lead in assists (4) while ranking tied for fifth among NHL leaders in plus/minus (+6, since Oct. 22)…rookie goaltender Frederik Andersen started three of the eight games, going 3-0-0 with a 1.33 GAA and .938 SV%.
