Anaheim Ducks

Bryan Allen
On the turning point of the game

It’s a tough one to answer. I don’t think we were prepared as a team. We didn’t play well structurally and together. I didn’t play very well. The last goal, I made a soft play in our own end and got beat to the net. I take responsibility, too.

On the Panthers
It just shows it’s a good league with good players. They have a lot of pride and still play hard. I don’t think we were prepared as a team tonight.

On the power play
It’s just confidence in a game. We have the personnel to make things happen and score goals. Sometimes you fight it and you try to look to do too much, or wonder what you can do better. Sometimes, it’s just about simplifying things.

On the penalty kill
Hopefully something we can take as a positive tonight. Something together as a group, collectively, we try to focus on and know we have to be better at it. I guess that’s one good thing we did tonight.

On the amount of travel this early in the season
I don’t think travel is a factor. Everyone travels in this league and it’s a part of the game. I don’t think anyone should use that as an excuse.

Florida Panthers

Tim Thomas
On what stood out about tonight’s victory

The effort level. Although we’ve been giving real good efforts, something was extra tonight. Guys laying down blocking shots and doing whatever it took to get it out of the zone. The little things, putting the work in.

On coming back from a 2-0 deficit after the first period
I felt terrible, about the worst I felt in the first period. I was fighting the puck. I didn’t know how confident to feel that we could come back against a really good team. But the second period started to come together for all of us, then a real good effort after that.
