Quotes from Nick Bonino, Corey Perry and head coach Bruce Boudreau following Thursday's practice at Honda Center.

Nick Bonino
On the contract talks
I’ve been talking to them for a while with both sides working toward a number. I was happy to get it done. We started talking a while ago. It’s been going on for a couple months. These things take time and I’m just happy it’s over. I don’t have to worry about it for a few years.

On the contract length
I’m 25, so it’s a great deal for me. I’m happy to stay with this team and all the guys here. I’ll be done with it when I’m 29, so it’s a great deal and I’m very happy.

On his season so far
This year is a big year for me. And so far, I’ve felt good. I’m doing what I can in the [defensive] zone, the [offensive] zone, special teams and in faceoffs. It’s stuff like that you know you want to be on and contributing everywhere. That’s been a good start. The only downfall this year is we’ve let a few games slip away that we should’ve had. All in all, through the first 27 games, we’re sitting in first place with a few games in hand.

Corey Perry
On blocking out distractions for tomorrow’s game

Every time you have something going on the day before, there’s a distraction with family. It’s a great holiday, but we’re all professionals in here and we know what’s at stake and where we are. We’ll be ready to play tomorrow.

On the Calgary Flames
Bruce made a statement today that the last 10 games have been one-goal games. They’re a good, solid team. The last few years, we’ve had our struggles with them, but we’ve also been on the winning side. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll be on the positive side.

On the 17-game home winning streak against the Flames
We’re a team that wants to play hard at home, and it doesn’t matter who we’re playing against. It just carries over game to game. If we can continue playing the way we’re playing at home, we’re going to be successful. We’re playing a simple game. We’re getting some good goaltending and the defense has been playing well.

On the benefits of having two days between games
It’s nice. We haven’t had this much time between games that often. It’s definitely something we needed. We needed to work on some things in practice, and we’ve done that in the last few days. Hopefully it carries over for the next couple.

Bruce Boudreau
On the status of Saku Koivu

He got through two good practices. I think he’s on the verge. He’s a game-time decision tomorrow. I think it’s more positive than negative, but you just have to wait and see.

On Francois Beauchemin and Bryan Allen
I don’t think they’re going to be ready tomorrow, and they’re very iffy for next week. But after that, I don’t know what the timeline is.

On blocking out distractions for tomorrow’s game
The most a coach can do in this situation is, quite frankly, hope they understand we have a one o’clock game tomorrow. Even though it’s Thanksgiving and family is so important, let’s not go overboard on Thanksgiving. I don’t want to hear that any of these guys are doing shopping at midnight. [laughs]. It’s such an important game for us, and a big game. We want all hands on deck because all the visiting team does is its normal routine. There is no shakeup in Calgary at all about it being Thanksgiving. Usually, the home team has family down at that time or something, so there can be distractions other than the game itself. We want to try and eliminate all of those. All I can do is talk about them and tell them the pitfalls, and then hope. We don’t have private detectives on every house.

On the Flames
They’re going to be a hard team to beat. There is no way we don’t think these guys are a tough opponent. Everything is one game at a time. It’s the same way we do our goals. We just have to look at tomorrow as its own entity and do what we do, and do it well.
