In a few hours, the Ducks will host the Calgary Flames at Honda Center on Black Friday in the team’s only afternoon game of the season.

The Ducks enter today’s game as the only team undefeated in regulation at home (9-0-1). After a disappointing loss in Dallas on Tuesday, the Ducks will look to regain the top spot in the Pacific Division against a team that hasn’t won in regulation at Honda Center since Jan. 19, 2004.

Anaheim’s 17-game regular season winning streak at home against the Flames is the longest home win streak vs. one opponent in franchise history. The Ducks are also 17-6-1 against its new division rival dating to Nov. 29, 2007.

Much like the Ducks, the Flames enter today’s game riddled with injuries. Minutes-eating defenseman Dennis Wideman is out 6-to-8 weeks with a broken hand after blocking a shot against Chicago on Wednesday, and rookie forward Sean Monahan is week-to-week with a hairline fracture in his foot. Captain Mark Giordano (ankle) and forwards Curtis Glencross (knee) and TJ Galiardi (lower back) are on injured reserve.

“There is no way we don’t think these guys are a tough opponent,” said head coach Bruce Boudreau. "It’s such an important game for us, and a big game. We want all hands on deck because all the visiting team does is its normal routine.”

SAKU’S RETURN?
Ducks center Saku Koivu had “two good practices” and will be a game-time decision, according to Boudreau. The veteran forward has missed 15 games.

TURKEY TALK
All-time, the Ducks have hosted 12 games the day after Thanksgiving (all day games), going 6-3-3. Overall, Anaheim owns an 8-4-4 record in day-after-Thanksgiving games, outscoring the opposition 45-39. This afternoon marks the second time the Ducks have hosted the Flames on the day after Thanksgiving at Honda Center (also Nov. 26, 2006, a 5-3 Ducks win).

DUCKS-FLAMES
Anaheim and Calgary continue a four-game season series this afternoon at Honda Center. The Ducks won the first contest of the series on Oct. 16 at Honda Center, a 3-2 win powered by Teemu Selanne’s 108th career game-winning goal. The Ducks own an all-time record of 42-33-8 against the Flames, including a 28-8-6 mark at Honda Center. Selanne leads Anaheim skaters in career scoring vs. Calgary, earning 82 points (39g/43a) in 74 games. The final two meetings of the season take place at Calgary on Mar. 12 and Mar. 26.
