Postgame Quotes: November 30 at San Jose

Postgame quotes from Alex Grant and head coach Bruce Boudreau following Anaheim's 4-3 shootout loss in San Jose on November 30.

Alex Grant
On his first career NHL game

It was a nice comeback in the third. We talked a lot about that between the second and third periods. It’s nice to get a point, but it would’ve been great to get two.

On his first career NHL goal
I can’t imagine how it would feel with a win. It was nice to get, but it would mean so much more with a win.

On being recalled by the Ducks
I just got the call after the game on Wednesday night in Norfolk. Then, I came up here and on the goal, I was just trailing [Nick] Bonino and he made a nice pass. I wanted to get it off quick and on net, and it went in.

I had 11 friends and family in the seats tonight. It was unbelievable. I can just imagine how they’re feeling.

Head coach Bruce Boudreau
On Joe Pavelski’s shootout goal

I thought he stopped. It’s not a vague rule, but it’s a weird rule because you’re allowed to stop, but the puck isn’t allowed to stop. He came to a dead stop, but they OK’d it in Toronto and they get to watch it on replay, so I guess the puck didn’t stop its forward motion.

On Anaheim’s energy level in the third period
We said between periods that if we get one, we’ll get two. We were right there. They had a 3-1 lead, but it’s still within the distance where we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. When Alex Grant scored, I thought there was a really good chance we’d tie it. I thought we were going to win it in regulation because the adrenaline was flowing pretty good.
