ANAHEIM DUCKS

Ryan Getzlaf
On tonight’s game

We were sloppy. In our zone, we stood around and watched a lot. When teams get cycling, we tend to collapse a little bit instead of pressuring. We didn’t have our legs tonight, and that’s what changes that d-zone.

On putting this loss behind them
We’ve won a lot of hockey games in the first half of the year. We’ve made it a habit of not losing two in a row, so we have to focus on Wednesday.

Luca Sbisa
On if tonight was a letdown game

We talked about that and we knew we came off two big wins against the Kings. But we knew we had to leave that behind. If you want to stay up top, you have to expect to show up every night. You can’t expect to win every night, but you have to expect to show up and give it everything you got. I don’t think we did that tonight.

On the team making uncharacteristic mistakes
It seemed like there were a lot of odd-man rushes. It just felt like right from the start, we didn’t have that extra step in our game. It carried over throughout the entire game.

Ben Lovejoy
On if tonight was an emotional letdown

I don’t know if it was an emotional letdown, but it was certainly a letdown in our play. We didn’t play well. We were far too loose with the puck. We didn’t bring it tonight.

On the team making uncharacteristic mistakes
We’re a team that wants to play good, solid hockey. We made far too many mistakes. We were really careless with the puck. They’re a team that thrives off of transition.

Head coach Bruce Boudreau
On tonight’s game
We weren’t very good. There’s no reason when we’re playing a team as good as Minnesota that we should have a letdown, even though the L.A. games are a little more emotional than other games. I don’t believe in that stuff.

On the compete level
We were falling, swinging and circling. If it wasn’t for the posts in the second period, we would’ve been entering the third [period] down about 5-1.

MINNESOTA WILD

Jason Pominville

On the win
We got a good start. We battled through. They’re obviously an elite team. They have done a lot of good things at home. They are a physical team, a tough team to play against at home. I think we were good in almost every area of our game. Our power play got one but I thought we generated some good opportunities off it. Our PK was good, our goalie was good, our 5-on-5 was good. I think overall we did a lot of good things tonight.

On the game
We knew we needed to be feeling good and at our best to compete against this team. I thought we frustrated them by not giving them much. Obviously they have some elite players, guys that will make things happen and make plays, but I thought for the most part we limited their quality opportunities.

Zach Parise
On the Ducks
I think their record at home pretty much speaks for itself. It is not an easy rink to come and play at. They play really well here. I think we had a really good start. We didn’t sit back. I think even when we had the lead we kept going at them. I think that was a little bit different than what we’ve seen before. We didn’t get passive. We put them on their heels as opposed to us being on our heels.

On the win
It’s a tough building. It’s a really good team. I think for us, we have to take note of how we played and what we did. We forced them into some bad spots, and forced them to turn the puck over. As a result, we had the puck more. We always have to be better puck possession wise and I think tonight was a good step.

Head coach Mike Yeo
On the game
I am just real impressed with our guys. How they battled in this game and how they played for each other. You can see on the TV how the team is playing but when you’re there and you’re standing behind the players and you get to hear them talking and what they’re saying to each other. It was certainly a fun night.

On the win
To come in and beat these guys, you know you’re going to have to be great. We said that this morning. There are too many parts of the game where they are very strong. You can’t play good 5-on-5 and good on the power play and not good on the PK. We knew we had to be good in every department and we knew we need everybody. We had that tonight.
