Ducks Transform into ‘Celebrity Sous Chefs’ at 14th Annual Dux in Tux Presented by Honda on Thursday, Feb. 6 at The Hilton Anaheim
Ducks Players to Assist Popular Southern California Chefs in Meal Preparation Tableside at Evening Benefiting the Anaheim Ducks Foundation
All local chefs featured at Dux in Tux have created a distinctive menu for their individual table (complete list of participants included below). A Ducks player will be paired with each chef to assist in meal preparation tableside for their guests. The evening will begin with a V.I.P. reception at 6 p.m., followed by a general reception at 6:30 p.m. and a seated dinner program at 7:30 p.m. The dinner program will co-emceed by Ducks television color commentator Brian Hayward and Ducks television host Kent French. In addition, Christine Mayfield from the Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education at California State University, Fullerton will be recognized for her selection as S.C.O.R.E. Captain. Each year, the S.C.O.R.E. Captain award is presented to a teacher or educator who exemplifies the mission of the Anaheim Ducks Foundation through his or her work within the S.C.O.R.E. program.
Also as part of the dinner program, a live auction with not-to-be missed packages and experiences will be offered. With Kent French serving as the live auctioneer, supporters can bid on an Anaheim Ducks Road Trip package; a One-of-a-kind Wine Cellar starter collection featuring hand-selected favorites from Anaheim Ducks players and coaches; Winnipeg to Anaheim: 22 years of Teemu package, including commemorative replica jerseys from all of his NHL franchises and a suite night for 10 to Anaheim’s Mar. 31 game vs. Winnipeg; Olympic send-off packages featuring country jerseys personalized by all seven Anaheim Ducks Olympians (Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Teemu Selanne, Jonas Hiller, Cam Fowler, Sami Vatanen and Jakob Silfverberg); and a one-of-a-kind dinner for six hosted by Ducks Head Coach Bruce Boudreau and his wife, Crystal.
About the Ducks S.C.O.R.E. Program
The award-winning Ducks S.C.O.R.E. program offers free educational standards-based curriculum to students through in-class and physical education. The program was developed in 2005 with the goal of making a positive impact with youth in local schools and hockey communities throughout Southern California. Based on the team’s goals in the community and through funding from the Anaheim Ducks Foundation, Ducks S.C.O.R.E. has been made free of charge to all its participants. The program uses the sport of hockey to teach educational themes, encourage healthy and active living, reinforce the importance of positive character building, and reward youth for their dedication of pursuing academic excellence. Through its initiatives, Ducks S.C.O.R.E. has contributed to the educational landscape within traditional and non-traditional settings while impacting over 28,000 students annually.
