Ducks Acquire Petersson from Ottawa in Exchange for Grant
The Ducks have acquired right wing Andre Petersson from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for defenseman Alex Grant.

Petersson, 23 (9/11/90), collected 17-23=40 points with a +12 rating and 28 penalty minutes (PIM) in 47 games with Binghamton of the American Hockey League (AHL) this season. A native of Olofstrom, Sweden, Petersson ranked tied for third among team leaders in scoring and goals.

Selected by Ottawa in the fourth round (109th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Petersson made his NHL debut with Ottawa in 2011-12. He debuted with the Senators on Jan. 21, 2012 at Anaheim, going scoreless in a 2-1 loss. Petersson has appeared in 124 career AHL games with Binghamton, earning 42-47=89 points with 64 PIM. He twice represented Sweden at the IIHF World Junior Championship, winning silver in 2009 and bronze in 2010.

Grant, 25 (1/20/89), scored 2-0=2 points with a +3 rating in two games with the Ducks this season. He began the season with Norfolk, collecting 7-20=27 points with a +1 rating and 46 PIM in 52 games. The 6-4, 205-pound blueliner ranked third on the Admirals in assists and led team defensemen in scoring, goals and assists.

Acquired from Pittsburgh in exchange for left wing Harry Zolnierczyk on June 24, 2013, Grant has scored 24-65=89 points with a +9 rating and 220 PIM in 177 career AHL games with Norfolk and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. In 2011-12, Grant ranked third among AHL rookies and tied for fourth among league defensemen in power-play points (7-20=27), while setting career highs in goals (10), assists (27), points (37) and appearances (61).
