Ducks Learn to Play Program Reaches New Heights
The Ducks Learn to Play Program powered by Ryan Getzlaf & Corey Perry is seeing maximum enrollment for its seasonal programs.
In September 2013, the Anaheim Ducks Learn to Play Program powered by Ryan Getzlaf & Corey Perry was launched. Since that time, both seasonal programs have sold out.

“Corey and I are proud to be part of this program," said Getzlaf. "It’s another great sign of the growth of the sport in Southern California, which is what we are all striving for.”

Over 1,700 participants have signed up for the September-January (completed) and February – August (in progress) programs. Those that remain in THE RINKS Development Program will have their Bauer hockey equipment purchased for them (for keep) by Getzlaf and Perry.

“It’s fantastic to see the turnout for Learn to Play," said Perry. "It’s exciting to see so many new skaters, especially amongst the youth in the area. We look forward to more of the same for years to come and are honored to be part of the program.”

About the Anaheim Ducks Learn to Play Program

The Learn to Play hockey program, funded by the Anaheim Ducks Foundation, is in its third year of existence and assumed a new name after the Ducks stars committed to join instructional sessions and purchase hockey equipment for those who enroll in any of THE RINKS hockey programs. It offers first-time hockey players between the ages of four and 10 the chance to learn to play for free. Participants receive instruction on the basics of hockey and skating techniques during the four-week session run by THE RINKS Development Program presented by Honda.

The Learn to Play program is currently available at six RINKS locations (ice and inline). Participants with be provided with skates, shoulder and elbow pads, shin guards, a helmet, hockey pants, gloves and a jersey.
