Ducks Recall Etem, Rakell from Norfolk (AHL)
Etem, 21 (6/16/92), has appeared in 28 contests with Anaheim this season, earning 7-4=11 points with a +3 rating and four penalty minutes (PIM). During his most recent recall, Etem played two games for the Ducks, scoring the game-winning goal on Feb. 8 @ NSH. Etem appeared in 39 contests with the Admirals this season, scoring 16-26=42 points with a +11 rating. At the time of his recall, he led the team in points, assists and plus/minus (+11), and second in goals.
Selected in the first round (29th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Etem made his NHL debut with Anaheim in 2012-13, collecting 3-7=10 points with a +7 rating and nine PIM in 38 contests. Rakell, 20 (5/5/93), has appeared in nine contests with Anaheim this season, scoring 0-1=1 point with two PIM. The 6-1, 192-pound center appeared in 46 games for Norfolk this season, collecting 14-23=37 points with a +7 rating and 12 PIM. Rakell left Norfolk ranked third on the team in points, second in assists and power-play goals (8), and tied for third in goals.
Selected in the first round (30th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Rakell made his NHL debut on Jan. 19, 2013 at Vancouver. He was the sixth youngest player to appear in a game for the Ducks at 19 years, eight months and 14 days. Rakell played four games with Anaheim in 2012-13, going scoreless. Rakell spent the rest of 2012-13 with Plymouth of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), collecting 21-23=44 points with a +19 rating and 12 PIM in 40 games.
