Ducks Reassign Kurtz to Norfolk (AHL)
Kurtz, 24 (5/16/89), has scored 5-7=12 points with 112 penalty minutes (PIM) in 70 games with Norfolk this season and ranks tied for fourth among team leaders in games played and second in PIM. Signed as a free agent on Apr. 10, 2013, the 6-2, 206-pound winger has set career AHL highs in goals, assists, points, appearances and PIM this season.
A native of Oakville, Ontario, Kurtz has appeared in four professional seasons since making his AHL debut with Syracuse in 2009-10. In 196 career AHL games with Norfolk and Syracuse, Kurtz has earned 14-14=28 points with 364 PIM. He also played four Ontario Hockey League (OHL) seasons with Windsor and Sudbury from 2006-10, recording 71-72=143 points with 175 PIM in 251 career games.
