Postgame Quotes: Game 4 at Dallas
POSTGAME QUOTES
2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs First Round Game 4
Anaheim 2 vs. Dallas 4
Apr. 23, 2014
American Airlines Center
Series tied, 2-2

ANAHEIM DUCKS

Mathieu Perreault
On the positives from Game 4

We played good in the first period. We got out to a 2-0 lead. Now going back home, we’re glad to go back in front of our fans. We’ve been good at home all year. Now, it’s a best-out-of-three, and we have two home games. We’re still positive.

On the physical play
We need to come out hard. We’ve played great hockey all year long at Honda Center. We have to play Ducks hockey and stick together.

Frederik Andersen
On putting the loss behind him

I just need to have a short memory. I need to be ready for the next game back in Anaheim, and that’s what I’m focusing on.

On tonight’s game
They came out of nowhere in the second period, and we weren’t ready for their push. They got the momentum after that. We had a great first period. We just have to be able to finish the job. You have to be able to finish them off.

DALLAS STARS

Vernon Fiddler
On the series

We still have a lot of work to do and a lot of games left. Both teams have taken care of business at home. Everybody feels comfortable in their building. Anaheim is a tough place to go in and play. They’ve got great players and great leaders, so we know we have our work cut out for us.

Jamie Benn
On tonight’s game

We are a confident group in here. We want to play the same way all the time, if we are up two goals or down two goals. We regrouped and came out with a strong effort in the second and third [periods].

Head coach Lindy Ruff
On the series

I really feel like we’re in a playoff series now. The first couple of games didn’t really feel like it, now we feel we’ve got a playoff series.

On the turning point of the game
I just said I wasn’t happy [after the first period]. I thought we got outworked. I thought we weren’t playing smart enough and it was our turn to answer and I think that group in there answered the bell. It’s not often we get out worked but there was some situations where some of it was smarts and some of it was getting outworked. I thought after that, the last 40 was as hard as the boys could go. They emptied the tank.
