With Game 3 at Staples Center on the horizon, the Ducks got in a spirited practice this afternoon at Honda Center. A day away from the rink appeared to rejuvenate and re-energize the players, and head coach Bruce Boudreau says he felt the same way.

“It was good for us,” he said. “When you’re down 2-0, the next day and night you’re depressed. Then, you start building yourself up. You saw it today. They were really upbeat and raring to go. If you’ve never been down in a series, it’s not hard to hang your head and say ‘Woe is me.’ We’re going to be determined. We’re playing a great team, but we’re going to give it our best shot.

“They never quit. They believe in themselves. There have been so many times when we’ve been behind the eight ball and come back.”

Speaking of eight, Ducks forward Teemu Selanne says anything to help boost the confidence of the team is a plus, and that includes their perfect road record at Staples Center during the regular season. “The way we look at it…the series starts right now,” he said. “It’s a best-of-five now. It’s a big game. We want to have a good start and have fun.”

Forward Patrick Maroon says he and his teammates know they can take back two games in LA.

“We’re very excited for [Game 3],” he said. “They took two from us, but we believe in here. We strongly believe we can take one there, and even two. We need to focus on tomorrow. Once we get the first one out of the way, we’ll get the second one out of the way.”

CROWD FACTOR
Though Honda Center was predominantly clad in orange, the Kings faithful still managed to make their presence known. Now with the scene shifting up the 5 freeway for Games 3 and 4, the Ducks want their fans to make an impact on enemy territory.

As always, Ducks fans are encouraged to “Paint it Orange” wherever they are, and that includes Staples Center. For fans attending Game 3, head to the Anaheim Ducks Team Store Powered by Reebok at Honda Center tomorrow between the hours of 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. to pick up orange rally towels and 'Beat LA' thundersticks (while supplies last). You will need to show your ticket(s) or will call confirmation.

"Hopefully they can be as loud as they were in our barn,” said Maroon. “Hopefully our Ducks fans are cheering us on in LA. It gets us excited when the away barn is going because we’re trying to shut [Kings fans] down, too.”

Adds Nick Bonino, “I’d expect we’ll have a lot of Ducks fans there. There were a lot of Kings fans here for the first two games, so I’m expecting Ducks nation to be in the Staples Center and be loud.”

Selanne used one of his patented responses when asked if he expects a strong Ducks presence in the stands tomorrow night. “Absolutely,” he said. “When we play here, there are Kings fans, and when we play there, there are Ducks fans. It goes both ways.”
