Berkovitz finished second among Ashwaubenon skaters with 37 points (11-26—37) and a plus-16 rating in 24 games in 2013-14. He led the Jaguars with four points (0-4—4) in three playoff games, helping the team advance to the Section 5 championship game. He was the only defenseman and one of eight finalists for the Wisconsin Hockey Coaches Association player of the year award.
Berkovitz also suited up for Team Wisconsin in the Upper Midwest High School Elite Hockey League in 2013-14, totaling 13 points (3-10—13) in 21 games.
He was one of the Jaguars’ top two scorers in three of his four seasons with the team, including a team-best 25 points (11-14—25) in 23 games in 2012-13. Berkovitz (7-22—29) finished sixth among Ashwaubenon scorers in his freshman year of 2010-11, seven points behind his older brother, Austin (19-17—36).
Berkovitz has committed to attend the University of Wisconsin in the fall of 2014.
"He’s got skill, can skate, has nice hands and a good feel for the game. He played for Team Wisconsin [in the Upper Midwest elite league], so I've seen him against good teams at the AAA midget level, and he competed hard and has a lot of ability in his game." -- NHL Central Scouting’s Greg Rajanen
