The Ducks have partnered with Smart and Final to provide turkeys for the We Give Thanks Foundation on Thanksgiving Day. 

From Wednesday, Nov. 4 through Friday, Nov. 20, Ducks fans are encouraged to visit Southern California Smart & Final locations to assist in the effort. For each turkey purchased for the annual We Give Thanks dinner on Thanksgiving Day, Smart & Final will award customers with a voucher good for two (2) tickets to select Anaheim Ducks home games in the month of November.

“We are honored to support We Give Thanks and partner with Smart & Final to help further assist in the success of the event,” said Ducks Senior Vice President Bob Wagner. “With 20,000 people expected to be fed this Thanksgiving, it takes a tremendous group effort from all parties to make this very special event for Orange County happen.”

Smart & Final has 140 participating locations across Southern California. Beginning Nov. 4 (today), Ducks fans can purchase a turkey voucher from any cash register at a local Smart & Final store. A turkey voucher will cost $15.26, which is the equivalent of a 14-pound turkey ($1.09 per pound). With hopes to reach a donation of at least 600 turkeys, Ducks fans can purchase vouchers up until Thursday, Nov. 19. Smart & Final will then deliver the equivalent amount of turkeys to the We Give Thanks Foundation. An expected crowd of nearly 20,000 people will have the opportunity to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with members of the community, free of charge in the Honda Center parking lot.

As a reward, each Smart & Final customer that makes a turkey donation will be presented with a ticket voucher for two (2) tickets to a select upcoming Anaheim Ducks game. The voucher can be redeemed at the Honda Center Box Office. Each customer will have the option of choosing from one of three Ducks games: Nov. 19 vs. Tampa Bay, Nov. 23 vs. Calgary, or Nov. 25 vs. Carolina.

“I’m so grateful that we started the Thanksgiving Dinner at Honda Center four years ago,” said Frank Garcia, Founder of We Give Thanks. “It’s incredible that two great organizations like Smart & Final and the Ducks have come together to help feed those in need.”

The We Give Thanks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded 22 years ago by Garcia.  Its mission is to serve Thanksgiving meals to persons in need throughout Orange County. Last year, the We Give Thanks event fed more than 16,000 individuals on Thanksgiving Day. Honda Center will host the event for the fourth consecutive year. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
