The G.O.A.L. hockey program is a grass-roots initiative created to develop community-based projects that promote and educate local youth about the sport of hockey and the Anaheim Ducks. “The G.O.A.L. program is another example of the Ducks’ objective to further the youth hockey movement in Southern California,” said Ducks Director of Fan Development Matt Savant. “We are dedicated to enriching the community through unique programming and opportunities for youth hockey players and their families.”
G.O.A.L. looks to continue the development of hockey in the local market by creating new ways for interested youth to learn about the sport through programs like “Learn to Skate” at partner rinks, S.C.O.R.E. a G.O.A.L. through local participating elementary schools and the “Mini One-on-One” tournament, designed to test the skills of local youth hockey players. The G.O.A.L. program also assists in NHL and USA Hockey’s “Hockey Weekend Across America,” taking place nationwide once a year, inviting youth and their families a free education on skating and hockey at partner rinks. Other programs include the Ducks’ Speaking Series, where Ducks players will visit local partner rinks for Q&A and autograph sessions.
Supporters can become a “fan” of the Anaheim Ducks G.O.A.L. facebook page. The facebook page includes features such as “Ask a Pro” and “Videos from the Rinks.”
