ERIN'S VIDEO PROFILE
Birthplace: Fontana
Year as a Power Player: 2nd
Occupation: Full time graduate student at Cal State Fullerton
Career Goal: PR professional for the sports industry or a firm
Why did you want to become a Power Player? I have grown up watching hockey since my dad is from Canada, but I love the sport and getting to be part of a professional sports team is one of the best things I can ever think of. I also hope I one day can work in the PR Department for the Ducks
What is your favorite part about being a Power Player? Getting to do something I never thought I would do. I was always the one playing the sports, not cheering others on. Plus, I love meeting all the kids who look up to us and the players. They are so sweet and excited.
What are you most looking forward to this season? Getting to see all the fans I met during my first year as a Power Player. It’ll make it feel real to be back. Plus, getting to skate more -- it’s unbelievably exciting
What's your most memorable Ducks moment? Seeing the Niedermayer brothers win the Stanley Cup together. I admired these players because of their hard work and dedication to the game and their team. You really saw it in how they played individually and with their teammates.
Favorite part about hockey: The speed and intensity of the game. These guys make it look so easy, but they really are working outrageously hard.
If you played hockey, what position would you want to play? Defense for sure. I played sweeper in soccer, and there’s nowhere else I would want to be.
Most interesting experience you have had as a Power Player: Skating with and teaching our ice routes to Teemu Selanne at a Ducks Fantasy Camp game. He is an incredibly nice person and complimentary of our team. It was kind of an honor to skate with him
What do you in your free time? I love to read. When I have the time outside of school work, I’ll play tennis, hang out with friends at our houses. I love going out and staying in, just depends on my mood
What's something unique about you that most people don't know? I spent 2 months alone in Germany for an internship and didn’t have time to learn the language before I left
Describe your personal style: Laid back and comfortable. I love jeans and a tank top with flip flops, but I’m totally up for dressing fashionably, heels and everything. But day to day is more casual
What do you do to stay fit? I’ll run sometimes to do some cardio, plus some yoga at home. Mostly, it’s staying active in general, playing sports or doing activities with my friends. I try to avoid sitting at home on my computer or watching TV.
What are some of the most played songs on your iPod? “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons, “Lights” by Ellie Goulding, “Islands” by the XX and “Let It Happen” by Jimmy Eat World
What are three things that you cannot live without? My family (including our Pomeranians), water (whether that’s to drink or play in) and a toothbrush. I can’t stand it when my teeth feel dirty. Plus my mom worked in an orthodontic office for 30 years, so I was raised on good dental hygiene.
Biggest pet peeve: When people stop texting back in the middle of a conversation! Just tell me you have to go because you’re busy. Don’t make me sit thinking I upset you
Guilty pleasure: Eating peanut butter and honey on bread and watching one of the Twilight series movies. I can’t explain why I like watching them. There is a lot wrong with them, but I must admit I have watched them all several times
Go to karaoke song: “Twist and Shout” from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
#1 bucket list item: To play tennis with one of the top 25 professional tennis players of my time
Favorite sports to play: Soccer and tennis
Favorite place in Orange County: Tennis courts off Barranca in Irvine. They have a back board so I can practice on my own
Favorite season and why: I love the summer, because I am a warm weather kind of girl. It allows me to go in the ocean and not freeze, play more sports outside and I remember playing my favorite soccer tournaments in the summer when I was younger
Favorite holiday: Christmas! I love getting presents, but I love shopping for loved ones as well. Plus, it’s always been my favorite thing to set up the decorations with my parents.
Favorite movies of all time: Boondock Saints because it’s got action and comedy and the main guys (excuse me) are really hot. Monty Python and the Holy Grail because it’s a classic comedy that not everyone appreciates, but however stupid the jokes are, they never seem to get old.
