CAREER: Re-signed by DET to a two-year contract on 7/1/11… Won the Stanley Cup in 2007 as a member of the Anaheim Ducks… Traded from Anaheim along with a 2010 3rd round draft pick to Tampa Bay for Evgeny Artukhin on 8/14/09... Played for Michigan State (CCHA) from 2003-06… Named MSU team MVP for 2005-06 season

2012-13: Broke his right hand on 4/20 at VAN and is out indefinitely...At the time of his injury he ranked second on the team with 81 hits and led all DET forwards with 41 blocked shots

2011-12: Tied a career-high skating in 80 games...Set new career-highs in goals (14), assists (11), points (25), +/- (+6), GWG (4) and SOG (131)... Led all DET forwards with 66 blocked shots... Registered 79 hits

Personal: Drew’s brother Ryan plays goaltender for the Buffalo Sabres while his cousins Kip, Kevin and Kelly all played in the NHL as well (Kevin played for DET from 1990-91 to 1991-92 and again in 2003-04)

- Played a career high 29:52 TOI in Game 2 of the CSF, May 3 @ DET
- Picked up an assist on three shots in Game 6 of the CQF, Apr. 27 vs. SJ
- Scored an empty-net goal in 15:12 TOI in Game 4 of the CQF, Apr. 23 vs. SJ
- Scored his first career playoff goal (GWG) in Game 2 of the CQF, Apr. 19 @ SJ
