Oilers-Mighty Ducks Preview

GAME: Edmonton Oilers (11-13-5-0) at Anaheim Mighty Ducks (10-11-4-5).

TIME: Sunday, 8 p.m. EST.

As bad as the Edmonton Oilers are right now, they always seem to rise to the occasion against the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

The Oilers will try for just their third win since Nov. 20 when they take on the Mighty Ducks at the Arrowhead Pond.

Including a four-game sweep of last season's series, Edmonton has won the last five meetings with Anaheim dating to the 2001-02 campaign.

Edmonton is winless in three overall (0-1-2) and is coming off a 3-3 tie with the Phoenix Coyotes on Friday.

Despite owning a 42-21 shot advantage, Edmonton played to a draw for the second straight night. Radek Dvorak scored a power-play goal with 7:46 left in regulation to get the Oilers even.

The Oilers, who tied at San Jose on Thursday, have won just once in their last nine (1-5-3) overall.

"It's nice to have a point, but we know we should have won last night and tonight," Dvorak said. "What we have to do is keep doing what we are doing right now and hopefully we will start winning some games. It's just a matter of time."

Ryan Smyth and Fernando Pisani also scored for Edmonton, which has two games to go on a four-game road trip.

The Mighty Ducks, meanwhile, come in after failing to post their first three-game winning streak of the season, falling to the San Jose Sharks 2-0 on Saturday.

Martin Gerber stopped 23 shots for the Ducks, who had been off since a 3-2 win over the Sharks on Wednesday.

Anaheim managed just one shot in the first 11 minutes, while San Jose scored just 2:02 into the game.

The Ducks are winless in their last 10 on the road (0-5-2-3), but have been a different team at home, winning three straight and five of seven.
