Mighty Ducks-Lightning Preview

GAME: Anaheim Mighty Ducks (11-15-4-5) at Tampa Bay Lightning (15-12-5-1).

TIME: Monday, 7 p.m. EST.

Jean Sebastien-Giguere and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks hope to snap the longest road winless streak in franchise history when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning at the St. Pete Times Forum.

"You have to keep pushing, especially on the road," said Giguere after the Ducks lost their sixth straight away from home with Saturday's 3-2 setback at Florida.

"There's no excuses for us. You have to look ahead."

Anaheim has already dropped the first two legs of its current five-game trip, dropping to 0-8-2-3 in its last 13 on the road. The Ducks' previous worst road skid was a 10-game slide (0-9-1) in 1995.

Anaheim has lost three straight overall, and has hardly resembled the team that made a spectacular run to Game 7 of last year's Stanley Cup finals.

The Ducks' last road win came two months ago in a 4-2 triumph at Washington on Oct. 29.

Anaheim was without center Rob Niedermayer (groin) and defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh (shoulder) Saturday. Both are questionable for Monday's game.

Tampa Bay had managed just one win in eight games (1-6-1) before Saturday's 4-2 victory over Boston. The victory opened a five-game homestand for the Lightning, who boast a 9-5-2-1 mark at the Forum.

Before Saturday's win, the Lightning had managed just three goals in the previous three games combined. But Martin St. Louis scored two of Tampa Bay's club-record three shorthanded goals, becoming the first player with three short-handed points since Nov. 18, 2000, when Marian Hossa and Radek Bonk each did it for Ottawa against Florida.

"We're going to take it any way they come right now," said St. Louis, who has five goals -- three short-handed -- in his last five games. "They're tough to come (by) as of late. You might see three power-play goals, but it hasn't been that way for us."

Vincent Lecavalier and Brad Richards also scored for the Lightning.
