GAME: Anaheim Mighty Ducks (33-21-12) at Dallas Stars (45-19-3).
TIME: Monday, 8:30 p.m. EST.
The Dallas Stars seek their sixth straight win over the Anaheim Mighty Ducks when they open a five-game homestand at American Airlines Center.
Dallas has won the previous four meetings between the teams this season and is 37-16-0 with five ties all time versus Anaheim, including a 22-5-0 mark with two ties at home.
The Stars haven't lost at home in the series since a 4-2 defeat on Feb. 14, 2003, recording five wins and a tie in that span.
Winners of four consecutive games and seven of their last eight overall, the Stars improved to 10-0 in shootouts this season with a 4-3 victory Saturday over San Jose.
The win also was Dallas' 10th this season when it trailed entering the third period, setting an NHL record.
The victory also moved the Stars, who play seven of their final 10 games on the road after the homestand, 14 points ahead of second-place Los Angeles in the Pacific Division with 15 games to play. The third-place Ducks are 15 points back.
Mike Modano had a goal and two assists in regulation, and scored in the shootout before Antti Miettinen beat Sharks goaltender Vesa Toskala for the game-winner.
"I'm not thinking too much anymore on the penalty shots," said Modano. "You just get the feet moving. It's been working for a little while. We just wanted to tie it up in the third and get at least a point out of the deal."
Modano, who has 21 goals and 45 assists in 52 games against the Ducks, had a career-high six points on two goals and four assists versus Anaheim in a 9-2 win on Feb. 1, 1995.
The Stars' all-time leading scorer has five goals and four assists during the current winning streak.
Anaheim is 6-1-1 in its last eight games, including a 2-1-0 mark on its four-game road trip that ends with this contest.
Joffrey Lupul scored a power-play goal midway through the third period Sunday as the Ducks rallied from two goals down to defeat Columbus 4-3.
After Columbus took a 3-1 lead on a goal by Rick Nash early in the second period, Anaheim's Travis Moen and Corey Perry scored 84 seconds apart to knot the game at 3-3.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped all 10 shots he faced after replacing Ilya Bryzgalov at 11:24 of the second. Bryzgalov allowed three goals on 18 shots.
Giguere is just 4-8-1 with one tie and a 3.11 GAA in his career against Dallas.
