GAME: Anaheim Mighty Ducks (37-21-12) at Dallas Stars (48-20-3).

TIME: Wednesday, 8:30 p.m. EST.

The Dallas Stars look to stay close to first place in the Western Conference and top 100 points for the seventh time in nine seasons when they host the surging Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the first game of a home-and-home series.

The Pacific Division-leading Stars have won 10 of their last 12 games and remain in second place in the conference, six points behind the Detroit Red Wings.

Goaltender Marty Turco set a franchise record with his 38th win of the season in Sunday's 3-2 victory over Calgary. The previous mark of 37 was set by Ed Belfour in 1997-98 and matched by Turco in 2003-04.

"He's had a very good year," Stars coach Dave Tippett said. "The number he cares most about is wins. The other numbers are inconsequential. That's a credit to him; 38 wins is a lot of wins."

Turco has posted a 9-2 record with a 1.98 goals-against average and .910 save percentage in his last 11 games. He has a 9-3-3 mark with a 1.68 GAA, two shutouts and a .935 save percentage in 17 career games against the Mighty Ducks.

The Stars have taken five of the last six meetings with the Ducks, outscoring them 19-9. The only Dallas loss to Anaheim in that span came in the last meeting on March 20, a 2-1 defeat at home.

Anaheim has won nine of its last 11 games to climb into a tie with Calgary for fifth in the West. A playoff berth is not nearly secure, though, with the ninth-place San Jose Sharks just four points behind.

Anaheim has not reached the postseason since losing the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals to the New Jersey Devils.

The Mighty Ducks had their season-high six-game winning streak halted in a 4-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday. The Anaheim power play went 0-for-5 after scoring nine goals in its previous three games.

"Bad passes. Absolutely bad passes," said Teemu Selanne, who extended his point streak to six games with a goal and an assist. "We panicked at times."

Selanne has five goals and nine assists during his six-game streak, and has eight goals and 14 assists in the last 13 contests. The Ducks are 10-2-1 record over that span.
