Ducks-Blue Jackets Preview
Associated Press

The Anaheim Ducks have used their first extended road trip of the season to turn things around after an 0-4 start.

They'll try to complete a 4-0 trip Monday night when they visit the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets.

Anaheim (4-5-0) struggled on the power play in losing its first four games of the season, failing to score in 13 attempts. It's an area in which the Ducks have shown recent improvement, converting three of seven power-play chances in the first three games of this four-game stretch.

For fans with the NHL's Center Ice Package, the Ducks have lifted the blackout for the opposition club's television feed for this game at Columbus. The Center Ice package blackout will also be lifted for the following games this season:
Nov. 22 vs. Dallas
Dec. 14 vs. Minnesota
Dec. 28 vs. St. Louis
Feb. 7 vs. Calgary
Feb. 26 vs. Boston

Corey Perry and Teemu Selanne scored on the power play Saturday as Anaheim beat Montreal 6-4 despite blowing an early two-goal lead. Perry scored early in the second period to forge a 3-3 tie, the first of four straight goals for the Ducks.

"Even though they scored the two goals to tie the hockey game and then they went up 3-2, we didn't really stray away from what we were trying to do," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. "We were fortunate enough that our goaltender made enough stops at critical times and our power play delivered for us."

The Ducks have scored 10 goals in their last two games - their highest output in consecutive contests this season. Perry added two assists Saturday and Ryan Getzlaf and Chris Kunitz each had a goal and an assist.

"Finally, we put some goals on the board and it's a great feeling all around," Perry said.

Jean Sebastien-Giguere picked up his second win of the trip with a spectacular 47-save performance. Giguere has won four of his last five starts at Columbus, and went 3-0 with a 1.60 goals-against average against the Blue Jackets (3-5-0) last season.

Anaheim won all three of those games by one goal, and has taken five of the last six meetings with Columbus.

The Blue Jackets are trying to get their offense untracked after managing one goal in each of their last two games - losses to the New York Rangers and Minnesota. They had the potential tying goal by Rick Nash with 11.5 seconds left overturned in a 2-1 defeat to the Wild on Saturday.

Nash has a team-high five goals, but he didn't score in the back-to-back losses. He had a breakaway in the third period when Minnesota's Brent Burns committed a turnover on a power play, but Wild goalie Niklas Backstrom turned away that attempt.

"Timing is everything. What are you going to do?" Columbus coach Ken Hitchcock said. "He's getting the chances. It's unfortunate for him. Maybe in a couple of weeks those will all go in."

Blue Jackets goalie Pascal Leclaire was lost to a sprained ankle in the second period and replaced by Fredrik Norrena. Leclaire's status for Monday is uncertain.
