DUCKS (17-13-4) at ISLANDERS (5-18-5)

TV -- PRIME (HD); MSG PLUS (HD)

Last 10 -- Anaheim 7-2-1; New York 1-7-2

Season series -- It's the second and final meeting between the teams. Anaheim beat the Islanders 1-0 at the Honda Center on Nov. 10.

Big story -- The Ducks are coming off an emotional 2-1 overtime win at Washington on Wednesday, a game that saw Ryan Getzlaf get the game-winner with 56.6 seconds left in the extra period. This will be the club's second game of a season-long, seven-game road trip.

Team Scope:

Ducks -- It's hard to imagine the Ducks getting off to a better start on their seven-game trip than they did with their win in Washington. Not only did they limit one of the NHL's most potent attacks to one goal, they found a way to win on a night when they were outplayed for much of the night.

"We just (have) to keep scratching and clawing," Getzlaf said. "We're not going to blow anybody out. Tonight, we had to take an extra five minutes, but we were able to get it done."

Islanders -- Interim coach Jack Capuano is trying to keep spirits up on the Island, but it's not easy when you've won just once since Oct. 21. He's trying to give younger players more time in hopes that something develops.

"I think the lines are playing pretty well," Capuano said Wednesday. "We have some young kids up front obviously. Jesse (Joensuu) is getting a chance, Matty Martin is getting more ice time, and I thought (Rhett) Rakhshani played fairly well in the game that he played. The kids are young and they are working hard. Hopefully if they continue to go to the net and do the right things, then we will get the bounces at some point because the chances are there."

Who's hot -- Anaheim's Corey Perry had an assist on Getzlaf's game-winner and has 6 points in his last two games. Getzlaf has 6 points during a four-game scoring streak. Defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky has 5 assists in his last four games. Goaltender Jonas Hiller is 4-0-1 with a 2.03 goals-against average in his last five games.

Injury report -- Teemu Selanne is on the road trip but has sat out the Ducks' last three games with a groin issue. Aaron Voros is out 3-4 weeks with a fractured orbital bone. … The Islanders are the NHL's M*A*S*H unit, with defensemen Mike Mottau (eye), Milan Jurcina (hamstring), Radek Martinek (arm), Mark Eaton (groin) and Mark Streit (shoulder surgery) and forwards Trent Hunter (knee surgery), Kyle Okposo (shoulder surgery) and Doug Weight (back) all sidelined.

Stat pack -- The Islanders' 15 points through 28 games is the lowest total at this point in a season since Tampa Bay had 14 in 1997-98. They've been outscored 79-36 while going 1-17-3 in their last 21 games.
