TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Niclas Havelid started a big week in grand fashion.

Havelid and Petr Sykora scored late second-period goals as the Anaheim Mighty Ducks snapped a 13-game road winless streak by beating the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 Monday night.

"It was a good team win," Havelid said. "Now we have to look forward."

Havelid is also looking forward to the birth of twins later this week.

"I had no trouble concentrating," said Havelid, who is flying home Tuesday. "Everything's good at home."

Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 31 saves for the Mighty Ducks. Stanislav Chistov had two assists.

Anaheim had lost six straight on the road and gone 0-8-2-3 away from home since winning at Washington on Oct. 29. The Mighty Ducks' road record improved to 4-10-2-3.

Giguere withstood Tampa Bay's furious comeback attempt in the third period, making a number of strong saves. He stopped two slot shots by Martin St. Louis and an in-close chance by Vincent Lecavalier.

"He did a good job controlling the rebounds," Lightning defenseman Cory Sarich said. "He played a heck of a game."

It was Giguere's first road victory of the season (1-8-1) and his second shutout overall.

"The road hasn't been very friendly to any of us," Giguere said.

Tampa Bay has won just four times in 18 games (4-11-3).

"Obviously we're frustrated and disappointed," Lightning coach John Tortorella said. "It's something we can't dwell on. We have to try and get better."

Havelid scored his first goal in 25 games from the high slot at 14:34 of the second. Sykora, who assisted on Havelid's goal, made it 2-0 from the slot at 17:22.

"I don't know if I've started a trend or something," said Sykora, who took the team out to dinner Sunday night. "Whatever it takes to win, that's what counts."
