ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ When Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped Rick Nash twice in the final minute, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks had their fifth straight home win.

Vaclav Prospal scored the go-ahead goal with 1:49 left in the third period and Cam Severson recorded his first NHL goal as the Mighty Ducks extended the Columbus Blue Jackets' road winless streak to eight games with a 2-1 victory Wednesday night.

Anaheim's third straight victory matched its longest winning streak of the season and the Ducks won for the fifth time in six games.

Giguere made 19 saves _ two in the last 30 seconds against Nash in front of the crease.

``Giguere is an unbelievable goalie, one of the best in the game,'' Nash said. ``The puck was bouncing both times, but there are no excuses. He just made a couple of great saves.''

Nash, tied for the NHL lead with 31 goals, hasn't scored in his last seven games _ his longest drought of the season. He sat out two games during his drought because of a bruised left foot.

``We haven't seen that too often this year, where he's planted himself in front of the goalie and missed,'' Columbus goaltender Marc Denis said. ``But he's been getting his scoring chances. They're not all going to go in, obviously. But the kid is tremendous. To be doing what he's doing at 19 years old is pretty much out of this world. And he's only going to get better.''

Geoff Sanderson scored for the Blue Jackets, 0-5-3 since their last road win on Jan. 8 against San Jose. Denis made 17 of his 31 saves in the first period while thwarting five power plays. The Ducks are 0-for-15 with the man advantage against the Blue Jackets in three games this season.

Prospal pounced on a loose puck in the left circle right after a faceoff and whipped it past Denis' glove for his 11th goal in 15 games.

``I didn't see it,'' Denis said. ``We had a tough night in the faceoff circle. I don't know what the numbers were, but we didn't really fare too well. It seemed like every faceoff in our zone, they were making a play and getting a shot on net.''

Sergei Fedorov scored into an empty net just seconds after Giguere stoned Nash in front for the second time. Giguere earned an assist on the goal.

``Maybe that's not an ideal situation, but it's my job to stop shots,'' Giguere said. ``We were very desperate. We kept working and found a way to win.''

The Ducks outshot the Blue Jackets 18-4 in the first period, but could do no better than a 1-1 tie. Severson, a 26-year-old left wing playing in his 15th NHL game, tied it at 11:49 of the period on a rebound in the crease after Denis stopped Jason Krog's wide-angle wrist shot from the right boards.

``I'm going to be sending the puck to my parents because they've waited a long time for this,'' Severson said. ``They're definitely excited.''

Sanderson, who has recorded eight of his 11 goals this season in the first period, opened the scoring at 5:55.
