Anaheim's Points Streak Reaches Six Games with 4-2 Win at Vancouver
Associated Press

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Jason Blake scored two goals to lift the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night.

Bobby Ryan and Nick Bonino also scored to help the Ducks win for the fifth time in six games. Anaheim's only loss in that span was a 1-0 overtime defeat in Calgary. It is the club's first standings point streak of six games-or-more since a seven-game streak (6-0-1) from Nov. 3 - 14, 2010.

Cody Hodgson and Mason Raymond scored for the Canucks.

Blake, who returned to the lineup on Jan. 4 after missing 34 games while recovering from a severe skate cut, also scored in Friday's 5-0 win at Edmonton.

Ryan gave the Ducks a 2-1 lead at 2:21 of the second period, five seconds after a penalty to Canucks defenseman Kevin Bieksa had expired. Ryan buried Saku Koivu's centring pass for his seventh goal in 10 games.

Blake doubled the lead with 6:52 left in the second on a breakaway when Canucks defenseman Aaron Rome couldn't handle David Booth's hard pass at the Anaheim blue line.

Blake then made it 4-1 on a power-play deflection with 7:20 to go in the third.

The 38-year-old veteran was was accidentally cut Oct. 14 by Brent Burns' skate and suffered left forearm tendon damage in a game against the San Jose Sharks.

Jonas Hiller made 21 saves in the victory. The Ducks goaltender has a 2-0-1 record .962 save percentage and 0.99 goals-against average over his last three games. In his last five games played, he is 3-0-1, with a .939 SV% and 1.38 GAA.

The Ducks have eight wins and three regulation ties in 20 games under new coach Bruce Boudreau, who replaced the fired Randy Carlyle.

The Canucks have 59 points, one behind the New York Rangers and Western Conference-leading Chicago.

Bonino opened the scoring nearly seven minutes into the game with his third goal since being called up from Syracuse of the AHL a month ago. Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo got a glove on a close-in shot by Blake but couldn't control the rebound as the Ducks swarmed the goal.

Hodgson tied the score on the power play with 9:08 left in the first, and Raymond capped the scoring on a wraparound with about three minutes left in the third.

NOTES: Vancouver forward Jannick Hansen got Gene Simmons to autograph a stick during the pregame warmup. He then exchanged fist bumps with the KISS rocker. ... Booth returned after missing 18 games with a sprained knee. ... Vancouver D Sami Salo missed a fourth game with concussion symptoms after a low hit along the boards Jan. 7 in Boston by Brad Marchand.
