GAME: Phoenix Coyotes (3-5-1) at Anaheim Mighty Ducks (2-4-1).
TIME: Sunday, 4 p.m. EDT.
The Anaheim Mighty Ducks look to get their penalty-killing unit in order as they try to snap a three-game losing streak in a matchup with the Phoenix Coyotes.
The Mighty Ducks have allowed two or more power-play goals in five straight games and are second-to-last in the league in killing penalties. Anaheim yielded three man-advantage goals in Friday's 3-2 loss at Detroit, but coach Randy Carlyle seemed more upset about the officiating than his team's play.
"I don't understand how they called that many power plays against us," said Carlyle, whose team had only four power-play chances while trying to kill off eight. "I don't understand how we're that bad. I guess the Detroit Red Wings get those calls in their building."
Anaheim has conceded five power-play goals in 17 opportunities at home, and 14 of its 23 goals allowed have come while trying to kill penalties.
Mighty Ducks center Sergei Fedorov will likely miss his fifth consecutive game with a groin injury, while starting goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere is questionable with a groin injury.
The Coyotes are 2-1 entering the final game of a four-game road trip. They lost 3-2 at Vancouver on Thursday, with the deciding goal coming on a disputed play early in the third period.
Phoenix goalie Curtis Joseph stopped Ed Jovanovski on a breakaway, but momentum carried Joseph into the net and Jovanovski on top of it while a charging Matt Cooke knocked the puck in just as the net was dislodged.
Referee Michael McGeough waved the goal off, but the call was overturned after a lengthy video review.
"It's too late to argue it now, but if you're a Canucks fan he went hard to the net on a breakaway and if you're a Coyote fan you claim interference," said Joseph, who had 35 saves in the defeat.
Joseph, who will again try to become the ninth goaltender in league history to reach 400 wins, is 13-11-1 with a 2.52 goals-against average in 25 games against Anaheim.
