Wild-Mighty Ducks Preview

GAME: Minnesota Wild (7-6-2) at Anaheim Mighty Ducks (7-6-2).

TIME: Sunday, 8 p.m. EST.

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks look to rebound from a rare home loss when they face the Minnesota Wild.

The Mighty Ducks lost 1-0 in overtime to the San Jose Sharks on Friday, failing in their bid for the longest home winning streak in franchise history. Anaheim also won six in a row at home from Dec. 1-12, 2002.

All but one of the Ducks' wins this season have come in Anaheim. They have lost a club record-tying six straight road games since winning 5-3 at Chicago on opening night.

Goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 31 saves on Friday before giving up a power-play goal to Marcel Goc 51 seconds into overtime. The game was the first in the NHL this season that went scoreless through regulation.

"Giggy played outstanding," captain Scott Niedermayer said. "They really came at us hard early in the game and we didn't have an answer. But he did, and he enabled us to get a point. Our goalies have kept us in these last two games, and the rest of us haven't performed at our best."

Anaheim had never played a 0-0 tie during its first 12 seasons, spanning 885 regular-season games.

Left wing Todd Fedoruk, who provides the muscle on the Ducks' top-scoring line with Teemu Selanne and Andy McDonald, left Friday's game in the third period with an abdominal strain. His status for Sunday is unknown.

The Ducks had killed 25 straight penalties before Goc's power-play goal in overtime Friday.

The Wild snapped a four-game road losing streak on Saturday, beating the Sharks 3-1. Brian Rolston scored all three goals for his second career hat trick.

Rolston's first goal at 12:53 left in the second period was Minnesota's first score in 19 power-play opportunities. The Wild's penalty kill, tied for first in the league entering Saturday, held San Jose scoreless on eight power-play opportunities.

Minnesota has scored three goals or fewer in eight consecutive games.

Rookie center Mikko Koivu made his NHL debut Saturday after missing the past five weeks with a strained left knee.
