GAME: Dallas Stars (11-6-1) at Anaheim Mighty Ducks (7-7-4).
TIME: Wednesday, 10:30 p.m. EST.
The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim begin life without Sergei Fedorov when they play host to the Dallas Stars.
On Tuesday, the Ducks dealt Fedorov, a three-time Stanley Cup winner and six-time All-Star, and a 2006 draft pick to the Columbus Blue Jackets for forward Tyler Wright and rookie defenseman Francois Beauchemin.
After spending the first 13 seasons of his career with the Detroit Red Wings, the Ducks signed him to a five-year, $40 million free-agent deal in 2003. The 35-year-old tallied 31 goals and 34 points in 80 games in his first season with Anaheim
He missed 13 games with a groin injury this season and had just one assist in five games. He has 431 goals and 589 assists in his career.
The 32-year-old Wright had four assists in 18 games and the 25-year-old Beauchemin had two assists in 11 games for Columbus.
Anaheim enters this contest looking to snap a season-high five-game losing streak. Rookie Jonathan Hedstrom scored the long goal in the Ducks' 3-1 loss Sunday to Dallas.
The Mighty Ducks' offense, which averaged 3.15 goals in its first 13 games, has averaged only 1.6 goals in its last five.
The Ducks may be without goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere. He left during the second period of the defeat with a leg cramp and did not return. He status remains questionable for Wednesday's matchup.
Marty Turco made 40 saves in his 200th NHL regular-season game to lead the Stars to their fifth win in six games.
"We need Marty to play like this," Stars coach Dave Tippett said. "That's what we call your goaltender giving your team a chance to win. And that's exactly what he did. He was right on top of his game. Marty has got to be the backbone of everything, and he was tonight."
Dallas recovered from early penalties and Philippe Boucher and Jere Lehtinen scored 50 seconds apart in the first period to give the Stars a lead they never relinquished.
Lehtinen's power-play goal marked the ninth-consecutive game in which Dallas has scored on the man-advantage, which is the team's longest streak since a nine-game stretch in 1993-94.
